Simultaneously, Magellan Development Group is expanding its reach in other top metropolitan markets to offer similar living concepts. In Miami’s Midtown neighborhood, Midtown Five luxury residential

rental tower opened in January 2017 and The SoBro luxe apartment complex opened in Nashville in October 2016. Moving north, the award-winning building, The SoBro, in Nashville is located near the vibrant Lower Broadway entertainment district – a hub for top cultural activities and restaurants. Miami and Nashville are rolling out Magellan Rewards programs to meet the needs of the new residents of Midtown Five in Miami and The SoBro in Nashville. The program will help Magellan residents new to the neighborhood find the best dining options, hotels, spas and more. The rewards incentives can be redeemed by all Magellan Rewards members, which is great for those with travel plans in the near future.

“We currently have several partners in both Miami and Nashville and will continue to seek partnership opportunities from hotels and fitness centers that provide a high level of service to residents,” says Vanessa Casciano, Magellan Development Group, Community Relations Director. “We hope to see the same growth and success in these new markets, as we have seen over the past 10 years here in Chicago.”

The Magellan Rewards program in Chicago has more than 250 local partners, and is growing. Among the newest additions to the rewards program is Winter’s Jazz Club, Chicago’s new home for live jazz music located in Streeterville.

“When you live in the city, you spend a lot of time and money at local establishments. It certainly helps to get a discount, and we wanted to offer that to our neighbors,” explained Scott Stegman, owner of Winter’s Jazz Club. Stegman lives in the Lakeshore East community and is also a Magellan Rewards member. “We offer 25 percent off standard cover to rewards members for advanced tickets; members can book any ticket online to receive a discount.” Winter’s Jazz Club recently offered complimentary tickets to the Lakeshore East community to experience the club first hand and nearly 175 residents were able to attend intimate performances that took place in the club’s listening room.

Vista Tower is a premier luxury property to be completed in 2020 in the award-winning Lakeshore East neighborhood. The 100-story tower will be the third tallest skyscraper in Chicago upon completion. The elegant structure will also feature a 5-Star luxury hotel, the Wanda Vista Hotel.

Construction on Vista Tower has recently reached new heights. Vista’s construction crew kicked off the project in September 2016 and has made significant progress since then. We’re excited to share the following updates and look forward to sharing even more announcements and progress in the coming months.

• The super-sized concrete west mat has officially been poured, which required 4,000 cubic yards of thick gray slab and more than one hundred truckloads to complete. Crewmen worked diligently to pump movable arms and transfer concrete from idle trucks to the Vista load-bearing base in a carefully choreographed production. The mat will serve as the foundation that supports the residential towers, Wanda Vista Hotel as well as the parking garage.

• Steel has been placed for the bridge extension that will provide further access to the city.

Q: How long have you worked for Magellan Development Group?A: I have worked at Magellan for 10 years.

Q: What is your current role?A: Community Relations Director. It’s my dream job! One of my favorite

things to do, both personally and professionally, is to plan and execute events. As Community Relations Director, I can confidently say I’ve planned hundreds of community and resident events. More importantly, I love meeting new people. Over the last 10 years, I’ve had an opportunity to meet almost all condominium owners at the closings. Since I also live in the Lakeshore East neighborhood, I see residents outside of normal business hours at the park, pool, Mariano’s, etc. Some residents have even become personal friends. Bringing people together and providing great experiences is what I do best!

Q: What do you look for when choosing community partners for events?

A: I like planning events or experiences that are unique, but also appealing to everyone. I think some of the best-attended are those that highlight something new in the city – whether it’s a new hot spot for dining and drinks or helping get the word out about new fitness classes, hotel openings or even events geared toward pets. I look for partners that see the value of inviting their neighbors (our residents) to experience their products or services.

Q: Out of all the community events that you have coordinated, what event has been your favorite to plan? Why?

A: Festival in The Park! In 2016, we celebrated our 10th Annual Festival in The Park at Lakeshore East, and they just keep getting bigger and better. It’s fun to work with more than 80 vendors and see more than 2,000 residents attend. The live music and activities help engage the entire community, from kids to adults. It’s great to see the residents mingling with our Magellan Rewards partners. Over the last 10 years, the Magellan Rewards partners have really upped their game by providing hearty food and unique drink samples. The raffles are amazing! People win free personal training for an entire month, dinner gift certificates and much more.

Q: What events are you looking forward to in 2017? A: Movies in The Park. There is nothing better than enjoying a Chicago

summer night in The Park at Lakeshore East.

Q: Is there anything else we should know about you?A: As much as I love Chicago, I love to take long weekend trips to

other exciting U.S. cities. Recent trips have included Charleston, Napa Valley, Nashville, New Orleans and Denver. I like to see what other cities are doing architecturally as well as experience the lifestyle that the locals lead. Finding dining or nightlife hidden gems are my favorite treats while vacationing.

Q: Do you have a favorite spot in Chicago? A: Wrigley Field! I grew up watching and rooting for the Cubs, so I was

thrilled when the Cubs won the World Series this past fall!
