• 6 month study with 11 patients learning magic over 2 – 4 weeks.

• Focused on Health Status and Self-Esteem

– Non Significant Results found in overall health status and emotional well-being most likely a function of small n and short time in treatment

– Significant (p=.02) change noted on the “energy/fatigue” scale.

– Underlying themes emerged including initial interest in the program as a “fun and social activity” and post intervention as a “interesting activity,” “challenging,” and “increased self-esteem when successful.”
