This document summarizes information shared by parents, students and community members in the Crenshaw High School Community over aseries of several meetings. This information will be considered in the development of the Magnet School Plan for Crenshaw High School.

Courses or subjects that will prepare allthe students to further their education

All students must have a 4 year academicplan that leads to a college or career pathand it must be reviewed annually with theparent, student and counselor to ensure thestudents are on the path to success
There must be one experienced counselorassigned to each magnet and onecollege/career counselor dedicated to workin the college center full time
Teachers should be required tocommunicate with parents via email orpersonal telephone call when students areconsistently absent, tardy, missingassignments, and performing less thanC work in class. A conference must beheld with the student, parent and teacher
Teachers must welcome parents toobserve their classes at any time
Provide resources to pay teachers toconduct parent workshops that align withthe lessons being taught in the classroomso that parents may better support their
students at home

Opportunities to study abroad Internships and job training that connect

Three themes include STEMM, Businessand Arts & Media: Connect these academicprograms with various career paths andpractical, hands-on experience.
Apply Linked Learning instruction across allthree magnets and begin with 9 th gradestudents
Areas of focus should be Engineering,STEMM, Math, and Project-Based learning
Provide opportunities for students to getwork experience certifications in varioustrade jobs and internships
Explore the type of classes needed in themedical field and ensure that math is amajor part of the curriculum
