Posted: February 17, 2015 Start: February 28, 2015 End: April 10, 2015 Department: Magnet Position: Magnet Campus Representative Pay: $14 per hour Hours of Work: 15 hours per week ABOUT MAGNET Magnet is a social initiative that aims to combat unemployment and underemployment in Ontario. Using innovative technology, we are connecting people with the right opportunities. Magnets ever-growing network consists of over 40,000 jobseekers, 21 post-secondary institutions, nearly 1,500 employers, and numerous non-profit partners. Magnet is looking for a Campus Representative who will be responsible for promoting the Magnet network to their peers across campus. JOB DESCRIPTION The Magnet Campus Representative will be primarily responsible for driving promotion and awareness of the Magnet brand and platform at McMaster University through means determined by Magnet and consultation with the Campus Representative. Reporting to the Project Lead for the Magnet Campus Representative program, the successful candidate will work alongside the Project Lead and McMaster Universitys Career Services department to support their campaigns and initiatives, as well as be expected to initiate their own creative campaigns. The candidate must be available to attend the mandatory training session on February 28th, 2015 in Toronto. JOB REQUIREMENTS The key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to:
Engage and excite students about the Magnet platform and drive them to create complete profiles, use the platform, and connect to Employers
Support McMaster Universitys Career Services department and any other campaigns as required
Create and execute recruitment campaigns catered to their respective schools
Serve as Magnets student point-of-contact for McMaster University, regularly reporting findings from personal observations and feedback from students
Provide insights and feedback to inform Magnets student engagement strategy

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The ideal candidate will also have the following Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong leadership skills lead by example, consistently exceeding expectations
Relationship management ability to develop new working relationships with key student organizations across campus, strong pre-existing relationships are considered an asset
Superior communication skills be a confident and concise communicator (verbal and written)
An ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good judgment ability to determine best avenues for achieving success
Demonstrated high level of confidence and ability to think quickly on their feet
Excellent interpersonal skills tact, diplomacy and patience; sound judgment and demonstrated professionalism
