And they won first place for 8th grade! Dear Families, I wanted to personally thank our school community for your support during this difficult time. Your thoughtfulness, kindness and care encouraged us, as we took care of our students and teachers. The AACPS Trauma Team and the AAC Mobile Crisis Unit were amazing, we appreciate your expertise and unwavering support! On Tuesday, November 26 we look forward to the Annual Teacher Vs. Students Volleyball Game. We will operate on a two-hour early dismissal schedule which will provide us with the time needed to host this PBIS event. Classroom Highlights

8th graders used AVID strategies in Mrs. Conopask's Art Class while reading about Andy Warhol

and Pop Art. Students first looked at the graphics in the article did a quick I See, I Think, I Wonder

artful thinking strategy to make predictions about the text.

Next, students looked at the questions on the handout to see what they should be looking for in

their reading.

Students were then put into jigsaw groups to become experts on their part of the reading, before

reporting back to their home tables. Some chose to mark up the text.
