Premier League Review Preliminary final Sunday saw Burnside ladies take on Uni girls in a mouth-watering encounter. Uni scored first, but in a high scoring first half Burnside fought back and went into the break 3-2 up. Uni equalised but conceded directly after, Burnside adding another to progress to take on the Magpie ladies in the decider next Saturday 4pm with a 5-3 win (Tess Reynolds proving again how dangerous she is in front of goals with another 2 goal haul). The men’s fixture saw Forestville, having played their first finals fixture for many seasons in the top flight the week prior, hoping to continue their fairy-tale run against a Port side smarting from opportunities not taken the previous week in their loss to the Zulu’s. Port grabbed control from early on with a field goal conversion to Scott Germein and despite burning numerous opportunities to seal the game, went into the main break 3-0 up, with the third goal in particular being one for the highlight reel resulting from a string of incisive passes, summing up Port’s excellent team display. Despite the second half being scoreless it wasn’t lacking for creative play, with the Forestville custodian making many fine saves, setting up a re-match of last year’s grand finalists in the big one next Saturday night 6pm. The Magpies are represented in each of the matches this coming Saturday, with all fixtures being re-matches of the major semi final clashes after Seymour OC girls defeated Adelaide in the metro 1 prelim to advance to the grand final against the Port girls 12 noon, whilst the 2pm metro 1 men’s decider sees Grange Royals play the boys from Ethelton after their gritty 1-1 draw with the Zulu’s saw them go through after finishing higher in the minor round. All finals are at the State Hockey Stadium, Gepps Cross.

Pitch Replacement The pitch replacement is scheduled to begin on the 5th of October 2012! We have signed on with Tiger turf who will be installing their next generation WETT pro. A little information about Tiger Turf... Over the last 30 years TigerTurf has gained a reputation as a leading supplier of hockey surfaces.
