Erection
The final washer is located at the end of the Maguin washing line or may also be added to anyexisting washing line to improve washing.
It minimises the insoluble mineral load in purifica-tion sludge and in the pulps and prevents productinfection. It also completes the prior weed removal.
The drum solution, offered exclusively by Maguin,combines the advantages of drum and water jet tech-nology with negligible sugar losses and maintenance.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
It is made up of a rotating drum in which a number ofspray nozzles are positioned.
A thin layer of beets is created at the bottom of thedrum and exposed to high-pressure water jets. This layer is continuously being rolled on account of therotation of the drum allowing total exposure of the surface of the beet.
The water jets are applied along the length of the washing unit. As a result each beet is sprayed several times during its passage through the drum.
Weed catching fingers are installed on the internal surface: the weeds caught with these fingers are driveninto the washing water. In addition, the other weeds,which are stuck to the wall of the drum, are collectedand discharged into a flume.
The final washer drum can be provided with a compart-ment for separating transport water at the inlet whenthe beet feed comes directly from a flume.
