STRUCTURING RESPONSES
NEXT STAGE EMAIL EVOLUTION?
GoogleWave – almost got it right!
• Positives– Discussion and content tightly integrated– Applet based HTML communications – event, vote, map etc– Almost seamless boundary between content and communications– Cool tools – on-the-fly translation etc
• Negatives– No consideration for legacy media or working practices – email clients, documents etc– All or nothing approach– Too much of a cultural shift– Disruptive communications – playback communications/edits etc
What’s next?
• Emails that support applications and automatically structure feedback?
• Can legacy systems and HTML standards cope?
