Baxter Arena opened to the public October 2015 and is the end product of a joint community

and university partnership led by Heritage Services of Omaha. The joint partnership raised

$90 million for its construction and additional infrastructure improvements. The arena is a

vibrant community asset, serving as the home of University of Nebraska Omaha hockey,

men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. The building also serves the community by

holding concerts, civic events, campus recreation, youth hockey, figure skating and curling.

The building seats approximately 7,500 and features a competition/event arena as well as the

Holland Ice Community Rink, named in honor of the late Dick Holland, Omaha resident and

lead donor to the project.

EVENT MANAGEMENTAn Event Manager will be assigned to your event to be your source of information and your “liason”

to Baxter Arena. The Event Manager takes the information provided by you and dispenses it to Baxter

Arena’s personnel, as needed. With as much information as you can provide, your Event Manager will

work with our entire personnel to insure your event is a complete success.

ENTRANCESThere are two public entrances to Baxter Arena. The main entry is located at the event concourse

level on the southwest side, off of 67th Street. The second entrance is located at the event concourse

level on the north side, off of Castelar Street.

SECURITY OPERATIONSBaxter Arena staffs both campus security officers and local off duty law enforcement officers to

provide security before, during and after events. Baxter Arena bases event security on the Homeland

Security National Threat Advisory and the performer’s security rider/needs.

ELEVATORS There are two passenger elevators and one freight elevator located in the facility.

Baxter Arena offers more than 3,000 parking stalls. There are additional spots available on the up-

per levels of the parking garage off 64th Avenue and Center Street in Aksarben Village. The furthest

parking space from the premises is only an eight minute walk. There are 25 ADA accessible parking

spaces with entrances located on both the North and South side of the building.

PYROTECHNICS

PYROTECHNICS Pyrotechnics and smoke are allowed. Pyrotechnics must have an approved Nebraska Pyrotechnics

license. A demonstration for the Fire Marshall is mandatory prior to the event. Pyrotechnic demon-

strations should be coordinated through your Event Coordinator or the Director of Operations.

BUILDING POLICIES

CAMERA/RECORDING POLICY

No cameras, video or audio recording devices are permitted inside Baxter Arena unless approved in

advance by the show or building management.

CHILDREN’S ENTRY POLICY

Most events do not require a ticket for children under the age of two. However, in order for a child

to have his or her own seat, a ticket is required. In some cases, shows intended for young children

do require children over the age of one to have a ticket. Please contact Baxter Arena in advance to

verify the policy for a specific event.

A Tag-a-Tot program is available at Guest Services Desks where a representative will give the child

a wristband to note the section, row and seat number. Should a child become separated, please

contact an usher for assistance.

NO RE-ENTRY POLICY

For your safety, once a person exits Baxter Arena, re-entry is strictly prohibited. Any re-entry will be

handled on a patron-to-patron basis.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

We ask all guests to arrive early and travel light, as you may be subject to search, which includes

metal detecting hand wands upon entry. For safety reasons, prohibited items include but are not

limited to:

• Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use

• Audio/Video recorders, professional cameras, tripods

• Cans, bottles, coolers or other similar containers

• Fireworks

• Flags/Signs with poles
