Reflexology is a form of natural healing based on the belief that reflexes in the hands, feet, and ears correspond to specific parts, glands, and organs of the body. By applying pressure on these reflexes, reflexology aids the natural function of the related body areas by relieving tension and improving circulation. Ancient humans stimulated reflexes naturally by working and building with their hands and walking barefoot over rough ground. Modern humans have lost much of nature’s way of maintaining a balanced and healthy equilibrium. Reflexology aids natural health and vitality in several ways.

Just as we must critically evaluate information we read, we must also use critical thinking skills as we view images. Every day we are bombarded with images—pictures, billboards, commercials on television, graphs and charts in newspapers and textbooks, to name just a few examples. Most images slide by without our noticing them, or so we think. But images, sometimes even more than text, can influence us. Their creators have purposes, some worthy, some not. And understanding those purposes requires that we think critically. The methods of viewing images critically are the same as those we use for reading text critically. For example, we preview, analyze, interpret, and evaluate images.
