Perennial large trees(100m) height , with grayish white bark, leaves are glabrous, thin, scythe-shaped and wax-coated.

Taste: slightly bitter, aromatic ,pungent, astringent & cooling .

Odor: aromatic (strong) and camphoraceous

Chemical constituents:1- Eucalyptus v.o (3%-6%)from it

a- 85% cineole (colorless liquid with aromatic (camphor like ) odor, pungent &cooling taste.

(decreased biliary and renal colic's)

b- Eucalyptol – decongestant.

2- Resins.

3- Tannins( tannic acid).

General uses:1- Antibacterial activity (antiseptic) used

in following cases: a) Tonsillitis. b) Mouth & throat problems (sores)

(cankers) c) Gingivitis and stomatitis. d) Halitosis. e) Vaginal infections.

f) In the treatments of the infections in the
