Mainframe Issues and Challenges (Before)

• Poor source to load integrity– Manual compiles for each test environment

• Test environment lacked version control. All manual, JCL and related components were copied manually

• Syslib management issues• Back-out was a manual process• New copies were done manual• Components stored across Panvalet and

PDS• Inadequate approval process-no automated

emails• Multiple products to support (CA-View,

PANVALET)

Page 20: Mainframe VUG Presentation April 2016

20

Migration of PAN APT and Panvalet to ChangeMan ZMF

• Proof of Concept – October 2014– Use of RAMP to analyze TCF Panvalet libraries for

source and copy components– Installed, Configured ZMF ALL site and setup POC

applications– Completed package lifecycles with client data

• Project Kickoff – March 2015 at xChange• Assessment – May 2015

– 60+ application, 100k components, 90+ compliers, manual CICS new copy..etc

• Requirements gathering – July 2015• Development – September 2015• Go Live – November 2015
