• Unprecedented growing awareness that crowded places generally are a major security risk.

• Major Events just happen to bring additional focus (risk) to this challenging environment.

• Spectrum of “risk – density” points perhaps still not as well understood.

• Spectrum of “risks” not as well understood (CBRN – Cyber – poor training –etc)

• UK Project Griffin – awareness now being rolled out.

• Euro 2016 Mission and eleventh hour awareness in Brazil and “crowded places” central to all future games host thinking

• Nature of the “market” is changing:

– Football Clubs installing new solutions

– Shopping malls looking at options

– Surveys of physical footprints emerging

– Balancing off technology with human interventions

• The right “answer” cannot be provided by one organisation or company

Background



• To provide a framework for discussion following a series of short presentations

looking at different aspects of the risk and mitigations.

• To subsequently produce a more holistic presentation to present to UK and

international clients

• To then underpin this work with new and mature technologies, solutions or

ways of working

• This will be presented in Japan and for other major event nations
