Make a spooky batfish cake!

This is a great fundraiser and children’s activity around Halloween!

How to make a batfish cake: 1. Bake a cake – this one’s a chocolate

brownie! 2. Cut the cake into a fish shape 3. Melt some cooking chocolate 4. Make chocolate wings on some baking

parchment using a piping bag, then put them in the fridge

5. Make the eyes – we used marzipan and black icing

6. When the chocolate wings are set, peel

off the parchment. 7. Put the wings on your cake 8. Make the mouth – we used white

marzipan and red icing 9. Add the mouth to your cake 10. Scare your friends with your batfish

cake!

How to make a ghost crab cake: 1. Bake a cake – we baked a plain sponge

cake 2. Cut two slices from the cake to make the

crab’s shell 3. Spread orange icing on your cake 4. Make the legs – we used strips of

marzipan 5. Use the spare bits of cake to make the

pincers, and ice them 6. Make the eyes – we used marzipan and

black icing 7. You have now made a ghost crab cake!

Make a spook fish cake!

This is a great fundraiser and children’s activity around Halloween!

How to make a spookfish cake: 1. Bake a cake – we baked a lemon cake 2. Cut the cake into a spooky fish shape 3. Spread some lemon curd or jam onto your cake 4. Roll out some ready to roll icing 5. Drape the icing over your cake 6. Press down the edges 7. Cut around your cake 8. Make the eyes – we used marzipan and black icing 9. Make the mouth – we used black icing
