High math aptitude Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail Ability to learn new software systems Metro Waste Authority Summer Internship – Program Analyst & Assistant Our Summer Internship Program Includes: Gathering and analyzing data to provide creative solutions for real-world applications Greater understanding of the breadth and depth of potential jobs involving an MIS or Engineering-related field of study Portfolio examples to demonstrate skills and successes acquired during internship Resume experience working for a local governmental agency, including regulation and compliance involvement Paid compensation; $15-25/hour commensurate with years of college completed Metro Waste Authority is seeking a full-time (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) college student (undergraduate or graduate) who is pursuing a degree in MIS, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. The applicant will work closely with the Metro Park East Site Engineer and other colleagues to provide new analytic tools, reporting applications and electronic processes. The position will involve accumulating and entering data from assigned departments to build comprehensive Excel spreadsheets for senior management review. Intern will work in the field obtaining data for GIS through the use of Trimble GPS. Successful candidate must be self motivated and team oriented. Reliability and punctuality are mandatory. Primary activities will be conducted at the Metro Park East Landfill; a nationally known, award- winning facility.
