Makedonia Etimology

1) Makedonia name was taken from a book which told of a poor-middle income community in Central Asia, whereas they lived happily and they fulfilled their needs by making/creating it by themselves and sharing it with others.

2) Comprises of 3 words: MAKE (Membuat) – DO (Melakukan) – NIA (Menggemari)

3) Abbreviation of MAKER INDONESIA

A Brief History

2012 Started as mini Warung called Warung Bistik Makedonia, started by Dirra & Danny in Antasari area

Mid 2013

Iboy, Co-Partner of Makedonia, came with idea and concept of MakerSpace, of which a trending cause and movement started in US

July 2013

Team up with five Co-Partners: Danny, Dirra, Iboy, Yurry and Dina, formed Makedonia MakerSpace. Utilizing a land owned by Pak Didie Soewondho, in Cipete Antasari area

Nov’ 2013, - now

1st MakersWeekend in November 2013 Makers @america Faire on March 29th, 2014 etc

Makedonia MakerSpace is the innovation space & entrepreneurship through Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematic & Arts (STEMA) We are the pioneer of Makers Movement in Indonesia. Our MISSION is to build awareness of Makers Movement and to empower Indonesians to make our own products and innovations by two methods; 1) DIY (Do-It-Yourself), and 2) DIT (Do-It-Together)
