Makeup & Hair

The way that Maddie will have her hair will be in high bunches. This is because we think it will again reinforce the childlike qualities usually associated with dolls and make the film feel and look scarier. This is seen in the film orphan where the main character is wearing her hair in bunches. This works really well as it makes the character look innocent which makes the what she does during the film a lot more sinister and shocking and unexpected to the viewer.

We will have Maddie's makeup look a lot like this, as it’s a stereotypical look for a doll and will make her look different and not like a normal person. The lips of the doll we will be using are very similar to this makeup, this will make continuity between the two so people know that they are connected with each other. This is also seen Annabelle the film, they have used the rosy cheeks and dark lips. This works well as it shows people that she looks like a normal doll but doesn’t act like one.
