Humanity is at its best when weare able to help one another,

more specifically those who needour help.

This is how we've gotten by forcenturies, and it is more

important than ever, sharingspace with 7 billion+ people and

growing poverty.

While there are many examples ofgenerosity, over the years the role

of philanthropy has becomecentered on the super rich.

Individuals like Andrew Carnegieand Bill Gates have donated

millions to influence causes andprovide resources for the needy.

While great, a more grassrootsapproach to giving back has risen

to create more personalconnection to change and broaden

the scope of initiatives.

Giving circles offer the opportunityfor almost anyone to have a handand a say in helping the most

vulnerable members of our society.

By pooling money and makingdecisions together, giving circlesoffer a more democratic process tophilanthropy, and most times, arenot beholden to one group or cause,

unlike some foundations.

Remarkably, most giving circleshave been headed by women and

focus on women's issues around theworld, including education and

poverty.

Younger people have also noticedthe method as a way to get involved,

and causes like eradicating youthhomelessness receive attention as

well.

With thousands involved andcounting, giving circles have raisedand donated millions of dollars,

along with advocacy and a socialcomponent of charitable efforts.
