This will be the last Tallong for 2014 as the end of the school year is fast approaching. It has been a very successful year for

Lindsay Park, there have been many successes across the academic, social and sporting fields and I must congratulate our stu-

dents for their endeavours and for being such excellent students. To our parents, in particular those who have assisted at the

school in whatever capacity we value your contribution greatly. Lindsay Park has benefited enormously from the work of the

P&C, Auxiliary and Canteen Committees. The school would not be the success it is without their highly valued input and fi-

nally to the staff who have given so much to ensure that our students have had a rich, rewarding 2014, I thank you all so very

much.

Over the next few weeks there will be much happening at school and we will endeavour to keep you up to date via notes, the

website and the app please check regularly with your child. A calendar of events is included in this edition of the Tallong. If

there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Our major assembly of the year will be held on Monday 15th December commencing at 9.15 am. Invitations to the families of

our award recipients will be issued shortly and we are looking forward to the performances of our students which will be a

highlight of the assembly.

Currently one of the pedestrian gates on Thames Street is closed and will remain so until the maintenance work on the trees in

that area is undertaken. The work should be completed within the week and than the fence will removed.

The last day of term for the students is Wednesday 17th December, the staff will be at school until Friday 19th December. In

2015 the staff will return to school on Tuesday 27th January, students from Year One to Six will commence on Wednesday

28th January. Our Kindergarten students will commence on Monday 2nd February following the completion of their Best Start

Assessments. The parents of our 2015 Kindergarten students will be issued a letter shortly indicating the date and time of the

Best Start Assessment for their child. Please contact the School Administration Office if you are not able to make the appoint-

ment time so that it can be rescheduled. It is most important that your child participates in the Best Start Assessment process.

In closing can I once again thank you for helping make this an outstanding year for Lindsay Park and I wish all of you a

peaceful and relaxing break over the Christmas period.

We are pleased to announce that we have been approved for the government assistance for parents we are therefore much

more affordable for families. If you have a CRN number (this is not means tested) you will pay a maximum of $10 per session

this year. We are eligible for the Child Care Rebate and the Child Care Benefit.

Why should you choose to come to us?

We offer a program that targets the essential fundamental movement skills needed for all sports, fitness and fun activities. We

also aim to combat childhood obesity, promote friendship, leadership and social skills.

We also offer an educational period, where our highly skilled and trained teachers/coaches help facilitate learning in a range

of areas. We also have a rewards program for the children for completing homework and a separate incentive for creating and

documenting their own games.

We are local members of the community who have a genuine passion for children’s health

Furthermore we provide a place where students can relax, play games, read, draw and have fun with their friends and our

staff.

We have places available every day of the school week, all you need to do is send me an email at [email protected]
