Making Connections Initiative
The overarching goal of this initiative is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of men and boys in the
United States.
Making Connections Initiative
This initiative emphasizes community-level strategies and underscores the importance of
mental health and social connection and their link with community
wellbeing and resilience.
Making Connections Initiative
Prioritizes those who have a particularly high
need for community-level attention to mental
wellbeing, such as military/veteran
communities/families and boys and men of color
and their families.
Through this funding announcement, Prevention
Institute and the Movember Foundation are
seeking to select up to 10 communities to be part
of this initiative.

Share lessons, challenges, successes
Help each other solve problems
Inform tools to advance the field
Making Connections
In Year 1, the selected community sites will go
through a strategic planning process with technical
assistance provided by Prevention Institute.
Sites that fully participate with technical assistance
and develop an actionable prevention plan will be
eligible to receive implementation grants for a
period of 2-4 additional years.
How to Apply
This is a two-step application process:
Organizations must submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) by June 12, 2015
Based on individual and composite criteria, invitations will be extended to select applicants, who will respond with submission of Proposal Application
