Hearing

• You hear with your ears.

• When you hear a drum

or a fire engine, you use

your sense of hearing.

Hearing is a sense we need.

• We use our ears to hear.

• We need to listen carefully.

• What are your favorite sounds?

How many ears do you have?

Close your eyes and what do you hear?

Seeing

• You see with your eyes.

• When you see an airplane

or a bird, you use your

sense of seeing.

Sight is an important sense.

Clip • We see with our eyes.

• We read with our

eyes.

• What can you see

right now?

How many eyes do you have?

Close your eyes and name one thing in the

room.

Smelling

• You smell with your nose.

• When you smell a rose or

a skunk, you use your sense of smell.

Smelling is an important sense.

• We use our nose to smell.

• Some things smell good and some things smell bad.

• What do you like to smell?

Is your nose important?

Close your eyes and smell what is in the

room.

Tasting

• You taste with your tongue.

• When you taste a pizza or

cotton candy, you use your

sense of taste.

Tasting is an important sense.

• We taste with our tongues.

• Some things taste good and some things taste bad.

• What do you like to taste?

Do all things taste the same?

Do you like the taste of pickle juice of the taste of

cupcakes?

Feeling

• You feel with your skin.

• When you feel a soft kitten

or a hot oven, you use your

sense of feeling.

One more sense is touching.

• We touch with our fingers.

• Some things are soft and some things are rough.

• We can feel with other parts of our body.

How many fingers do you have?

Touch your cheeks. Are they soft?
