INSTEAD OF THIS ONE….IT’S BETTER

What is it exactly?

Teen pregnancy is when any girl between 13-19 years old has sexual intercourse and becomes pregnant. Usually the pregnancy is unexpected & unplanned.

How Has it Changed Over Time?

Although, some 900,000 Americans younger than 20 become pregnant every year, in the U.S., for 15-17-year-olds, the pregnancy rate hit its peak in 1991, then fell off 17% by 1996

pregnancy became even less common in the early 1990s. Some 13 pregnancies occurred per 1,000 females in this age-group

Ten Teen Pregnancy Facts:1.Three-quarters of a million teens between 15

and 19 become pregnant each year2. Very few teens who become mothers plan on

doing so.3. Two-thirds of teen pregnancies occur among

teens 18-19 years old.4. Teen mothers account for 11% of all births in

the US.5. Out of all teen pregnancies, 57% end in birth.

Ten Teenage Pregnancy Facts (continued):

6. Nearly a third of pregnant teenagers choose abortion.

7. Teens who become pregnant are less likely to attend college.

8. US teen pregnancy rates are higher than those of other developed countries.

9. Teen pregnancy rates declined between 1991 and 2005 but are on the rise again.

10. A sexually active teen who does not use contraceptives has a 90% chance of becoming pregnant within a year.

Another Fact…

ITS NOT JUST THE GIRLS THAT FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE TO HAVE SEX BECAUSE THEY ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP…ACTUALLY 25% OF BOYS FEEL LIKE THEY WERE EXPECTED TO HAVE INTERCOURSE TO FIT IN, OR TO STAY WITH THAT GIRL.

PRO/CON ABORTION

22% of teens that get abortion are due to a rape and their bodies aren’t developed enough to go through the labor

2 out of 3 teens who get an abortion their parents don’t even know that they were pregnant in the first place.

Issues to go with it..

Some think that teen pregnancy will not happen to them…but in reality they are EXTREMELY wrong.

A good thing to always keep in mind is BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!

In conclusion…

Teen pregnancy can happen to you, so take the necessary precautions to keep you, and your partner able to live your last few teenage years as teen agers
