MALÅ MIRA System

MALÅ Geoscience, the company that introduced Borehole radar, Digital GPR equipment, RTA Antennas, GPR-arrays and other innovative GPR solutions to the world market, has now also introduced MIRA, the second generation GPR Array technology. No other company in GPR history has brought forward new, innovative and truly working GPR solutions at a faster pace than MALÅ Geoscience, the market leader of GPR technology.

The World’s most productive GPR system

Fully integrated 3D GPR Array solution

Disruptive innovation at its best

Some 12 years ago when MALÅ Geoscience scientists and development engineers were looking at ways to further improve usability and efficiency of GPR solutions, it was decided that a large part of the future of GPR would rest on Array solutions. Further research concluded 4 critical criteria for an efficient and optimal 3D GPR Array, namely:

Channel spacing must be within ¼ of centre wavelength of transmitted signal•Cross-channel communication is necessary•Signature and polarization of all involved antennas must be identical•Accuracy of positioning must be less than half the channel spacing•

Ensuring best possible results, MALÅ MIRA systems are the only commercially available GPR System built to follow these guidelines.

Defining 3D GPR Arrays

As a consequence of the fourth criterion for a 3D GPR Array solution, a true Array system requires real-time support of a high accuracy positioning system. MALÅ MIRA supports high resolution Robotic Total Station positions and RTK-DGPS coordinate information.*

Based on the experience developing and using 3D GPR Array systems, MALÅ Geoscience also soon realized the need for dedicated software solutions to acquire and treat Array data.

MALÅ MIRAsoft is the software solution for acquisition of MALÅ MIRA 3D data and integrating this with real-time positioning data. rSlicer is dedicated software for QA/QC, 3D processing, interpretation and export/reporting.

MALÅ MIRA systems are today the only available systems of its kind, integrating seamlessly 3D acquisition, high accuracy positioning, true 3D processing, QA/QC, interpretation, export/report of 3D GPR Array data.

Integrated Solution

MALÅ MIRA systems were designed to be independent of number of channels used. The survey speed of older, inferior and hardly comparable multi-channel GPR products is directly dependent on the number of antennas used. Adding more antennas would not make a difference in productivity measured in data points per second. Not only with MALÅ MIRA systems, but also with MALÅ ProEx systems, this shortcoming has finally been removed.

For the first time in GPR history, adding channels also means adding data points per second. Thanks to intelligent core architecture and latest advancement in digital component technologies, as channels are added both MALÅ MIRA and MALÅ ProEx solutions will maintain their survey speed, thus collecting more data per second.

The productivity rate will vary depending on application area, system configuration and positioning system used but a typical MALÅ MIRA productivity rate is between 10,000 – 50,000 square meters of high-resolution 3D GPR data per day.

Whether your need is to map complex underground infrastructure or subtle 3D geological or archaeological features across large areas, MALÅ MIRA offers an unmatched cost-efficient solution for achieving answers fast and accurate.

Productivity

MALÅ MIRA is the GPR future today. MALÅ MIRA produces data of unsurpassed quality and customers are amazed of the level of resolution obtained. High density acquisition, dedicated 3D processing algorithms and intelligent interpretation tools removes much of the ambiguity from interpreting GPR data. Once processed, the detailed data collected by MALÅ MIRA delivers amazingly clean results.
