A story that must be told………………………...

When Fiber Roofing expanded our business to become the no. 1 supplier of synthetic thatch in the Maldives, we had to make a big decision.

In the past all projects globally were done by tradesmen from South African but in the Maldives, we decided to train

Maldivians to do the job.

Jan Grobler, chairman of Fiber Roofing cc, said: “We saw it as a gamble but it turned out to be one of our best

decisions.”

Our “man in the Maldives”, Abdulla Nazim and a top Maldivian tradesman came to the factory in South Africa and

were trained in all aspects of Fiber thatch installation.

Their new skills were tested when they did a roof at the Valena international Airport.

Two months later Mr. Badeeu project manager at the Reethi Faru Resort also visited Fiber Roofing for training on

Fiber Thatch.

2017: - Mr Badeeu, Danie Vorster (CEO) and Jan Grobler (Chairman) during his visit.

The training was followed up with Jan Grobler and Danie Vorster honing the skills of the Maldivians on projects at

resorts in the Maldives.
