What is conflict……..?

• A number of forms of politilized violence, inter-state war,insurgency & guerrilla war,terrorism & sectarian (Johnson 2005)

• Its not only military para meter but it also covers political ans social interfarance with the war is only limiteted in battle filed.

Introdution to kargil conflict

• In case of kargil conflict kashmiri militants and pak army,if its involvement is accepted ,tired to highlight the border issue of kashmir through having control over the main route of sirinagar to kargil..

• Kargil conflict is on the base of LOC and the area of kashmir in both side of LOC its stratigically very important.

Location (area) of Kargil Basically kargil is a hill in hole our its full

of snow just think in winter the maximum temprature is- 20 to -40 dgree c

the hight of kargil hill is 8500 to 18500 ft Its located in jamu & kashmir . its less

populated area of kashmir The more important highway of kashmir

is pass through the kargil hill At one side of kargil hill is Batalik hill &

other side is kasker hill

• Indian side: Sirinager-kargil-ladah highway Manali –ladah road

Pakistani side: Sakardu-Kargil road Burzil-Piyal-Kargil road

Kargil Episode

• In 8 May 1999 Pakistani Army and Kashmiri Militants attak on the kargil hill .

• 14 July both ceased their opration

• Accoding to indian army 524 soldiers are killed & 1363 wounded

• Side of Pakistan 696 pakistani soldiers are saheed & the nearer village damage in war and 40 civilians are killed in side of Pakistan

Basic perpose of Pakistani Army

1. Occupy the dominting height over looking S-K-L highway which was left indian army in winter

2. After establish the firm base cut off communication of laddah

3. The use of these bases for the facilitaion of the Kashmiri Militants to interfare in Kashmir velly

In 2nd era of Benazir Bhutto

• In ppp govt the pak army sought the green signal for the opration

• At the time Gen. Mushraf(r) was the DGMO had bought the plan to the PM but she said

“Kargil was as absolute disaster “

• PM Nawaz is also in dark on kargil warno air n navay chief was know about kargil war
