Mammoet’s maritime expertise covers over two centuries and we have long operated in European

waters. After the successful salvage of the Kursk nuclear submarine in 2001 Mammoet decided to form

a new salvage company, operating worldwide. Mammoet Salvage started its operations early 2006.

Within a few years Mammoet managed to develop into one of the world’s leading salvage companies

and have built up an impressive track record. Our projects range from routine and straightforward

salvage and emergency response operations to unique and highly specialized salvage projects.

Wreck removal and port clearance

Any kind of wreck removal operation is a unique project requiring a tailor-made approach. Our experience

in this fi eld is invaluable. The expertise, R&D facilities and unmatched engineering capability help us

develop unique and smart solutions, which are also cost-effective and help protect the environment.

Immediate action is essential when a wreck blocks a waterway or harbor entrance. We can provide

a rapid response, backed-up by world-class equipment, to clear ports and waterways as quickly as

possible.

Cargo recovery and deep sea special projects

With its smart and innovative solutions, Mammoet Salvage has recovered highly valuable and hazardous

cargoes which could not have been recovered by conventional methods, or at least not at acceptable

cost. We have recovered a wide variety of cargo, ranging from environmental hazardous pollutants to

gold and silver bullion, overcoming logistical challenges and operating in deep water. Working with

Mammoet’s engineers, we have developed unique solutions and equipment for these projects, such

as our revolutionary robotized underwater cranes. Our innovative and pragmatic approach prevent

environmental disasters.

Environmental protection

The environment is becoming more and more important. During our salvage operations we always take

measures to prevent pollution. Recovering hazardous cargoes is one of our specialties. The seas are

full of shipwrecks with hazardous cargoes which form potential time bombs, and their number is only

increasing. Based on our ISO 14000 certifi cation and expertise, Mammoet Salvage has an excellent

track record in environmental protection operations. During our salvage operations we always take

measures to prevent pollution.Based on this track record and our innovative solutions we have been

awarded a prestigious contract to recover a wreck with a cargo of extremely toxic mercury.
