Man Is A Created Being. Genesis 2:7: 7And the LORD God formed (the body of) man of (from) the dust (earth) of theground, and breathed (exhaled) into his nostrils the breath (spirit) of life (which gave man bothspirit and life); and man became a living (conscious, functioning) soul (person, individual, human).

When God breathed the Breath (Spirit) of Life into man's dust of the earth formed bodyhe not only received life but a spirit in the image and likeness of God. The spirit of liferesulted in man becoming a living soul or personality with attributes which would permithim to function within the environment in which he was placed. These attributes includeda mind with which to think, emotions with which to react and a free will with which tochoose. Although these characteristics are common to everyone, how they are usedresults in personality variations throughout the entire human race and are what make usdifferent one from the other.

Man = Body + Soul + spirit of lifeMan = Body + Consciousness + spirit of lifeMan = Body + Mind, Emotion, Will + spirit of life

Soul = Consciousness = Mind, Emotion, Will = YOU! 1. Man was made from the elements of planet earth.2. Man's created form had the appearance of a human but it had no life, much the same as a

dead body or a sculpted piece of clay.3. When God Breathed into the nostrils of this inanimate body it received a spirit in the image

of God which was after His likeness.4. When God Breathed into the nostrils of this inanimate body it became a living, conscious, aware, responsive being.

    5. With the gift of the spirit of life, man became a living , functioning human being or soul. 6. God is triune and Spirit. Man is triune (body, soul, spirit) with his spirit being in the image

of God.7. Man's soul or inner person was given a mind with which to think, emotions with which to

react and a free will with which to choose. These attributes make all men the same andthrough their use they make all men different one from another.

    8. Man is the highest physical order of life on the planet.9. Man was given authority over all other life forms on earth.

Man is created in God's Image. Man is a spirit that lives in a body and has a soul. It is theconscious soul, the person or the inner man within in all humans that enables the body tofunction as a life form. The soul is your person, that is, John, Susan, Peter or David with all of your characteristics, attitudes and foibles. Your soul directs the actions taken by your body, that is, you think about it with your mind, arrive at some emotional level relative to your thoughts and then using your will power, choose to carry out or not carry out an action via your

    body.

For example, you are on a diet and you see an apple pie. You look at it and think shall I or shall I not have a piece?..further consideration brings about a suppressing of the excitementand pleasure it may bring, at least for the moment in favour of a small degree of sadness

because using your will power you decide not to give in to temptation and you tell your bodynot to reach out for that slice of manna from heaven.

What I am pointing out here is that your soul can only express itself through your physical

body because that is the only place in which it functions. YOUR SOUL IS YOU!

On the other hand, your physical body with its sensory characteristics is the source of datainput for soul consideration. They both work together. Data comes in through the body, thesoul considers it and decides on an appropriate action which is then sent back to the body for execution.

In the previous example using the apple pie, your sensory characteristic of sight had to be usedto see the pie. The message "apple pie" was transmitted through the body to your brain. Fromthat point on, the soul took over regarding what you were going to do with what you hadviewed.

Here is another example. You place your hand on a hot stove. The built in sensorycharacteristic of touch in your body senses heat and transmits the message through nerves, neurons and the like to your brain. From this point on, your soul takes over. Your mind thenconsiders the message, you emotionally become alarmed at the discomfort and you choose toremove your hand from the source of pain. Your mind then says to your body, and specificallyyour hand, take it away from the source of heat. Your body then responds accordingly. This

    process is almost instantaneous.
