RADIOLOGY & ONCOLOGY RESEARCH CONSORTIUM MERGER

• Provided strategic guidance to the CTO, with a focus on project management for IT infrastructure development to support both organizat ions’ clinical research studies.

• Facilitated development of a data warehouse and web tool kit that util izes the different scientific backgrounds of the research consortiums. Assessed existing public portals, helped identify functional requirements, and analyzed radiology images and clinical data. Helped develop a set of common data elements and clinical study accrual reports.

• Drafted & presented recommendations to senior leadership for a telecommuting initiative and productivity tracking.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CARDIOVASCULAR GENOME-PHNOME STUDY (CVGPS)

• Identified recommendations for CVGPS’s long term strategic mission, focusing on development of a prototype technology platform that integrates existing clinical and genomic datasets across large population studies.

• Managed requirements gathering work stream, including development of common data elements to use as searchable attributes, t racking of errors and action items, and data gathering. Participated in briefings to senior leadership.

EDGEWOOD CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL CENTER

• Contributed to classified efforts involving chemical and biological agent research, strategic guidance for traumatic brain injury computational modeling investments, and development of emergency preparedness briefings.

• Analyzed public information, assisted with scientific writing, developed summary reports, and drafted strategic communications.

PEDIATRIC HEART NETWORK CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH GRID

• Developed Python scripts to analyze clinical site submission data, quantify metrics about the clinical study management process, and identify areas where biomedical informatics could improve workflow.

• Conducted an analysis of alternatives on technologies available for image-based clinical studies. Recommended options to leverage for clinical study management.

ENGINEERING CO-OP / Summer 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

SELECTED HIL IGHTS & CONTR IBUTIONS

• 2012: Supported Aegis Combat System’s Ballistic Missile Defense Mission Planner (MP) capabilities. Gathered feedback on existing user interfaces and designed new user interfaces for the next baseline. Conducted Monte Carlo simulations on missile trajectory patterns, used the results for a MP accuracy study.

• 2011: Conducted value chain analysis for internal investment in algae as a biofuel source by performing market research, meeting with potential partners, and collaborating with other alternative energy source New Venture teams.

• 2010: Developed electrical and mechanical design specifications for a submarine. Created a master part specification library and proofed technical drawings in Pro-Engineer. Performed an expenditure analysis to modify tasking and funding allocation for the next phase of submarine development.

• 2009: Designed biofouling mitigation schemes for the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) team that were implemented in two test facilities. Designed biofouling treatment protocols for a heat exchanger, which increased heat exchanger efficiency by over 10%. Submitted material coating concepts for larger scale OTEC plants. Four were selected for use at testing facilit ies.
