Fresh mart is one of my Introduction to Accounting assignment, which is also related to the management individual assignment as well. The fresh mart is about students in their respective accounting tutorial class selling fruits and vegetables around the campus in teams such as the fruit team and vegetable team. My fresh mart falls on Monday, 26 th May 2014 from 10a.m till 2p.m. Planning process involves defining the organization goals, implement such strategies to achieve goals and encounter plans to coordinate workloads (Robbins and Coulter, 2009). Most organization goals can be classified as financial and strategy goals. Our fresh mart financial goal is to achieve a minimum profit of RM500 whereby our strategic goal is to sell all our fruits and vegetables during the time span of 5 hours. Fresh mart is one of my Introduction to Accounting assignment, which is also related to the management individual assignment as well. The fresh mart is about students in their respective accounting tutorial class selling fruits and vegetables around the campus in teams such as the fruit team and vegetable team. My fresh mart falls on Monday, 26th May 2014 from 10a.m till 2p.m. Planning process involves defining the organization goals, implement such strategies to achieve goals and encounter plans to coordinate workloads (Robbins and Coulter, 2009). Most organization goals can be classified as financial and strategy goals. Our fresh mart financial goal is to achieve a minimum profit of RM500 whereby our strategic goal is to sell all our fruits and vegetables during the time span of 5 hours. As discussed during the meeting, we have decided to use a few strategies in order to achieve our goal. First strategy we will be practicing is personal selling. For example, we acquired mobile teams to walk around campus selling fruits and vegetables as well. With this strategy, our sales can be improved as we personally go to customers and sell our fruits and vegetables instead of the customers going to our booth only. Alongside, the second strategy that weve discussed in order to encounter customers is pricing strategies such as promotions. The pricing strategy we have chosen is rebate. For an example, if the customer decides to buy a pack of grapes, with a cost of RM6, we will offer them the 2nd pack of grapes with a price of RM5 and the 3rd park with a price of RM4.50. This means, the more the amount of packets of grape purchased, the cheaper the price of grapes.

The type of plans that our group has outlined for the fresh mart is short- term, single- use, operational and directional plans. Our fresh mart is short-term, as the event will only last for less than 5 hours. On the other hand, it is also a single-use plan. This means that our fresh mart is a one-time plan event as this event will only happen once and will not be repeated in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, our fresh mart will also encounter operational plan. An operational plan gives us specific details on how to encounter problems in order to achieve a goal which is set solely focusing in one area, which is sales (Robbins and Coulter, 2009). This also means that we will only be focusing solely on the sales of our products; fruits and vegetables, during out fresh mart. Apart from operational plan, we have also outlined to encounter directional plan. In simple words, a directional plan is plans that make us do whatever it takes in order to achieve our goal, which is the minimum sales profit of RM500.In my point of view, I strongly think that my forthcoming fresh mart will run as efficient and effective as possible. One of the reasons why I think we will be effective is because we have discussed our plan and strategy beforehand. Apart from that, we have prepared the details that are needed days before the actual fresh mart. Not only that, we even set our fresh mart theme, which is the Farm theme. This requires each member of our fresh mart to dress up in checkered shirts. This theme will bring more positive and fun spirit in our jobs and it will also enable everyone to differentiate ourselves from sellers and customers. I also predict that it will function efficiently as we will prepare members that would participate in mobile stations. By doing so, we are able to sell out our products to people that are unable to come to our booth. Thus, enabling us to reach various markets and increase our sales, which would bring us closer to our goals. These are my evidences on why I believe my fresh mart will perform efficiently and effectively.

Leadership is defined as what leaders do in order to lead and influence a group to achieve its organization goals (Robbins and Coulter, 2009). In relate to this assignment, me and my group members decided to appoint Namira Dzuri as the store manager of our fresh mart. By taking our suggestions into full consideration, she was able to plan the outline and goals. Based on my perception, I strongly think that Namira leadership style is more towards employee oriented. According to the University of Michigan Studies, employee oriented is one of the two scopes of a leaders behavior as an employee oriented leader is more to focusing on the interpersonal relationship and as well as taking care of employees demand or needs (Robbins and DeCenzo, 2001).To support my perception, Namira lets us decided on how and when to have the meetings based on our timing as she is very flexible. Alongside to that, with Namiras leadership skills, it is very effective to our fresh mart as this type of leadership brings in high group productivity and definitely a higher job satisfaction (Robbins and DeCenzo, 2001).In my opinion, I believe that we will be able to achieve our goals as we have prepared early and were very dedicated to our tasks. During the preparation stage, I was able to gained various skills and memories that is very beneficial and precious for me. For instance, I now know how to communicate and handle people with various personalities. Apart from that, Iam also more acknowledge on how to calculate costs and come up with appropriate prices in order to come up with clean profit and satisfy the demand of customers. With devotion from me and my members, including the correct leadership from our leader, I predict that we would be able to achieve our targets efficiently during our fresh mart.
