rank their top priorities. With over200 responses, infrastructure helda slight edge over communitydevelopment. Responsesemphasized a need to repairstreets, as well as addressingaffordable housing and publicsafety issues. Earth Day
The Utilities Department went allout for Earth Day, collecting trashbags full of broken glass, debrisand plastic bottles near theOakland Community Center andthe Kansas River Weir.
Utilities staff also collected trucksfull of trash and tires aroundShunga Creek.
Recent Updates Property Maintenance has cited 1,469 properties and structures forthe 2018 calendar year.
TFD Training Division staff completed the search and rescue coursesbeing taught in conjunction with MTAA at Topeka Regional Airport.
The Utilities Department has 19 waterline replacement projects, 3new waterline construction projects and 6 water treatment plantprojects in the works.

Coming up The Neighborhood Stabilization Program will be closed out and apublic hearing will be held on May 22nd at 5:30 in the HollidayConference Room.
43rd & Colly Creek Utilities replacement public meeting scheduledfor 5/10/18 at 4:30pm at the Topeka Baptist Church at 4500 SW GageBlvd. Construction will begin as early as 5/21/18 or as late as 6/4/18.
May 10th, the Zoo is hosting a Conservation Connection, a freeprogram at 6:30pm. Guest speaker is from the Lubee BatFoundation.
May 12th is Pollinator Palooza at the Zoo.
