Details of the CompendiumDetails of the Compendium• NBS has produced a compendium of Statistical Terms,

Concepts, Definitions and Methodologies for Data Production and Management in Nigeria covering 30 data sets and about 54,000 variables.

• The compendium helps every data producer and user to know

the sources of all types of socio-economic data about Nigeria,

• the definition of variables on which data are being or will be collected, preserved and disseminated.

• The process will also help to coordinate statistical operations in the country since state and local government version of the compendium will also be developed

Coding and Coding and ClassificationClassification

• Sectroral Data Divisions used in compiling the Statistical Compendium follow the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) Code and UN classification systems:

• The classification follow Division - Item - Details [DID] coding system

• The classification is to maintain standard among the Data Producers and Users as a step toward Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange Initiative
