JOHNNY KAWThe legend of Johnny Kaw originated from a Kansas State University professor in the 1950s. Mythical tales rivaled those told of Paul Bunyan and Pecos Bill. The 30-foot-tall statue erected in City Park stands as a reminder of the local legend.

K-STATE INSECT ZOOThe zoo features exhibits including a tropical tree/flooded Amazonian rainforest, observation beehive and freshwater display. Walk-in visitors, as well as guided group tours, are welcome at the Insect Zoo, which opened on the K-State campus in 1999.
