About Tiruchirappalli About MANLIBNET Background
Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) is a prominent city for
art and culture in the state of Tamil Nadu,
India with several tourist attractions in the
neighbourhood. Trichy has a rich cultural
heritage, which dates back to more than
1000 years. Trichy is also the home to Grand
Anicut, the fourth oldest dam in the world
that was constructed in the 2nd century AD
as well as the Rockfort. The geographic
location of Trichy makes it easy to visit
prominent tourist attractions that includes
World Heritage sites of Thanjavur,
Mahabalipuram and Gangaikonda
Cholapuram, natural escapades of
Coutrallam Falls and Kanyakumari, hill
stations at Munnar, Kodaikanal and Ooty,
and the exotic Indo French enclave of
Pondicherry. In addition, Delhi, Mumbai,

Management Libraries Network (MANLIBNET) was
established in the year 1998 at the first
convention jointly organized by the Indian
Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)
and Ahmedabad Management Association.
MANLIBNET organizes annual conferences in
collaboration with prominent academic
institutions of the country. Some of the institutions
it has collaborated in the past inlcude IIM
Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM
Kozhikode, IMT Ghaziabad, XLRI Jamshedpur,
ICSSR, Nirma University; University of Delhi EDI
Ahmedabad, TAPMI Manipal etc.
MANLIBNET has been conducting Librarian
Development Programmes for the professional
and educational enhancement of LIS
professionals. Also, MANLIBNET promotes
outstanding library practices by identifying the
Best Librarian from information professionals’
community and recognises the best academic
and professional work on an annual basis.
To promote research in LIS, MANLIBNET-Bharat
Book Bureau (3B) International Travel Grant is
given to MANLIBNET members every year for
presenting an original and unpublished paper in
an International Library Conference held outside
India.
MANLIBNET Best Paper Award
MANLIBNET Best Paper Award (Certificate + cash
prize of Rs. 10,000) is awarded to the best paper
written and presented in MANLIBNET
conferences. The winner will receive the award
during the valedictory program at IIM Trichy.

Libraries across the world are
undergoing extensive transformational
change as a result of the digital disruption. The
ways in which people today learn, teach,
communicate, interact, acquire and share
knowledge have changed due to
advancements in the information and
communication technologies. Hence, the
libraries and librarians must prepare for
themselves to meet these challenges and
convert it into opportunities. Libraries have to
integrate several technologies in their services
in order to attract the users. As the 21st century
progresses, librarians are facilitating to connect
communities and users with knowledge and
knowledge creators.
With the developments in open
learning, digitised learning resources and the
use of online and offline web environment,
several possibilities emerged to design digital
learning strategies to make any instructional
context effective to suit the ever changing
learning and learner requirements in the global
network.
Keeping the above aspects in mind,
Management Libraries Network in association
with Indian Institute of Management
Tiruchirappalli, is organizing an International
Conference on “EMERGING TRENDS IN
LIBRARIANSHIP: ROLE OF LIBRARIES IN LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT” on December 10-12, 2018 at
the Indian Institute of Management
Tiruchirappalli. This conference will provide a
platform for LIS professionals, teachers,
practitioners, researchers, students and users to
understand and also explain any innovation
practice used by them in terms of Technology,
Services and Resources at their respective
workplaces.

Paper Submission Guidelines
Length of paper: about 2500 words; single
spacing with Times New Roman 12 font size.
The paper should highlight the current
trends/issues.
The paper should be submitted in word
format only (.doc/docx).
The first page should contain title, author's
name, contact details, an abstract of 100
words and keywords.
The second page should have the title of the
article followed by the text.
Pictures/tables/charts/diagrams should be in
B/W.
The references need to follow APA style of
rendering.
Full papers can be mailed to
Paper presenters will receive certificates at
the conference.
Original papers based on research surveys,
case studies and implementation of new and
novel ideas, methods and services are
invited.
The selected papers will be reviewed by the
editorial committee. The accepted papers
should be submitted along with registration
fee to consider the paper for including in
edited book with ISBN No.
Few selected papers will be published in a
UGC approved journal.
Every paper has to be accompanied by
copyright declaration form according to the
format available on the conference website.

83 metres (272 ft) high rock that may

Rite Basilica is
devoted to Our Lady of Good
Health. Devotion to Our Lady of

traced to the mid-16th century and is

Nagore Dargah
(Nagapattinam)
is a dargah built
over the tomb of
the Sufi a saint
Nagore Shahul Hamid (1490–1579
CE). There are five minarets in the

Srirangam
(Tiruchirappalli)
is the foremost
of the eight self-
manifested
shrines (Swayam Vyakta Kshetras) of
Lord Vishnu . It is also considered the
first, foremost and the most
important of the 108 main Vishnu
temples (Divyadesams). The temple
complex is 156 acres in extent.
Ramanathaswamy
Temple
(Rameswaram) is
the most notable
historic landmark of the
Rameswaram. Temple is a famous
Hindu temple dedicated to the god
Shiva. The temple is one of the 12
Jyotirlinga shrines, where Shiva is
worshipped in the form of a
Jyotirlinga meaning "pillar of light".
Brihadishvara
(Thanjavur) is a
Hindu temple
dedicated to
Shiva located in Thanjavur. It is an
exemplary example of a fully
realized Tamil architecture. Built by
Raja Raja Chola I between 1003 and
1010 AD. It is a part of the UNESCO
World Heritage Site known as the
"Great Living Chola Temples" Kallanai

Anicut is an
ancient dam,
which is built (in running water)
across the Kaveri river. The dam was
originally constructed by the Chola
king Karikalan in 2nd century AD.

Amman
Temple
(Madurai) is a
historic Hindu
temple located on the southern
bank of the Vaigai River in Madurai.
The temple was mentioned in the
Tamil Sangam literature, with the
goddess temple mentioned in 6th
century CE texts.
Courtallam
(Tirunelveli) the
Spa of South
India, is
situated at a
mean elevation of 160 m (520 ft) on
the Western Ghats in Tirunelveli
District. The numerous waterfalls and
cascades along with the ubiquitous
health resorts in the area have
earned it the title the Spa of South
India. Botanical Garden
(Ooty) dedicated
to the collection,
cultivation and
display of a wide
range of plants labelled with their
botanical names. It may contain
specialist plant collections such as
cacti and other succulent plants,
herb gardens.
Puducherry is a
union territory
of India. It was
formed out of
four exclaves
of former French India, namely
Pondichéry. It can be traced to
the 2nd century AD.
Kodaikanal is a
hill town in the
southern Indian
state of Tamil
Nadu. It’s set in
an area of granite cliffs, forested
valleys, lakes, waterfalls and grassy
hills. The town centers around man-
made, star-shaped Kodaikanal
Lake, bordered by evergreen forest.
