The NSW Government is spending $6 billion over four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools. A further $160 million has also been invested as part of the record $747 million maintenance investment announced last year. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.

The project is being delivered in three stages.
Construction of the redeveloped school has been progressing well and is on track for completion early 2020.
Stage 1Stage 1 will be completed in time for Day 1, Term 1, 2019. It will comprise the construction of:
• 40-classroom block• Library• Canteen• A covered outdoor learning area
Teaching staff will have access to their classrooms during the school holidays, as needed.
Stage 2• Completion of the new hall• Refurbishment of the existing
administration building
Stage 3• Demolition of existing hall and buildings.• External works including landscaping.
The first day of the 2019 school year will be exciting for the students, teachers and parents at Manly Vale Public School as they access the new school buildings on the back half of the school site.
There will be a 40-classroom block, library, canteen and covered outdoor learning area ready for use. These were part of Stage 1 of the upgrade of the school.
It is important to be aware that works on the front half of the school site will be progressing throughout 2019. These works include:
• Completion of the new hall and the refurbishment of the existing administration building
• Demolition of existing hall and buildings. • External works including landscaping.
What this means for students, teachers and parents is that there will be dedicated access paths (shown by dotted red lines in the adjacent picture) through the front of the school site to get to the new buildings.

Traffic Management
In the Development Application, there is a Traffic Control Plan. The Traffic Control Plan outlines the need for:
• 5-minute parking zones for pick up andset down
• an extended bus zone to accommodatethree buses
• a wombat crossing.
Other traffic measures will be put in place including converting council spaces to two minutes, installation of flashing lights for school zones, installation of a gravel surface car park and staggering school start and finish times.

The health, safety and well-being of students, staff and our neighbours is our highest priority, and all necessary processes and measures will be implemented to ensure that the material is removed safely.
Construction areas on the school site will be separated by temporary construction fencing, just as they have over the past year.
