Dear parents, friends and colleagues of Manor School
We would like to offer a very warm
welcome to our new teaching
assistants, Leah, Alish (Class 16) and
Hatice (Class 8). We hope you will
meet them at our school events and
help them quickly become part of our
school community.
Welcome to our new staff
School Website The ‘My Class, My Learning’ section is
now ready to visit. This area of the web-
site is only available to our parents/
carers, and offers information, pictures
and videos of the work and class
activities the pupils are engaged in.
Please contact the school office if you
have not received your password.
Building work is now starting to increase the capacity of the school for next academic
year. We are all very excited about growing our community and welcoming new mem-
bers and friends in September. The expansion will enable Manor School to extend it’s
access to quality educational provision to around 40 more local children. Teams of
colleagues are working hard to minimise any disruption to day-to-day activities during
this period, but if you have any particular questions or concerns, do get in touch.
As the year passes, we are all pleased to see the many excellent improvements being
made to Manor School. The premises have never looked better and the staff are
working hard to provide the best possible learning experience for every child, every
single day.
On behalf of the school’s Governing Body, I wish you well for the remainder of this
term and I look forward to meeting more of you soon.
After the half term we will be opening up our new
Imaginarium. This specialist teaching room will have
lots of interactive lights, mood lights etc. to support
our children’s learning. It will make storytelling,
science activities etc. even more exciting and
engaging for pupils. We will be inviting you along
to have a look later in the term.
Stephen Hull Chair of Governors
Dear Parents,
We’ve had a great start to
the new year. Our pupil
progress data shows that all
of our pupils are making
good progress and we are
just about to send all
parents our new PIPS
(personalised intervention
programmes) which are an
even better version of the
old IEPs. Hopefully parents
will find them easier to
understand and they will
help to show their child’s
progress more clearly.
Next term we’ll be offering
even more parent training
and support groups and
hope that you’ll all find that
supportive.
I hope you all have an
enjoyable half term.
Best wishes, Jayne

Fundraising– Upcoming events
Spring Dates 2015
A very Special Tea Party Our pupils had a fantastic time at the London Taxidrivers Fund ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’. They watched a
whole range of live performance from clowns to acrobats, singers and dancers.
World Book Day
Polling Day The school will be
closed to pupils on
Thursday 7th of May
2015 for polling day.
This year World Book Day is being celebrated on the 5th of March and we have arranged some exciting
events for children to celebrate books and reading. Thanks to the National Book Token scheme all of our
pupils will be receiving a book voucher to help them buy a book of their choice. There will be actors
visiting from London’s West End theatres to perform their literacy musical “Space Jump” and a storyteller
from Bag Books reading multi-sensory stories to our pupils. We would like as many pupils as possible to
dress up, alongside our staff, as their favourite character from a book and we would also like to invite all
parents and carers to come and read a story to our pupils in our new library. Finally we are setting up a
display in the new library called ‘Get Caught Reading!’ and would like all of our pupils, parents/carers,
governors and friends to send in pictures of themselves reading in unusual places!
Sainsbury’s Active Vouchers
Every year we receive fantastic sports
equipment from the Sainsbury’s Active
Kids scheme, please can you donate
any vouchers that you receive to the
school office. Thank you!
St Patrick’s Day
We would like to invite all of our
parents, carers, governors and
friends to celebrate St Patrick's Day
with a special assembly on the 17th
March at 9.30am. There will be
singing and musical performances.
