From theFounderSince the age of twelve, I’ve had this nagging desire to change the world, but it wasn’t until March 2014 – one month before MaverickHill™ launched – that I figured out how I was going to do it. I desired to create a brand that embodied everything I wished I had present in my life at the time. I was struggling between punching the clock everyday and following the calling to be in business for myself. Impassioned by the statement “Well Behaved Women Seldom Make History”, MaverickHill™ was created to encourage young women to be leaders, motivators and history makers. Once I realized the mission of the company, I knew I couldn’t talk the talk and not walk it, too.

I am an alumna of Florida A&M University and founded MaverickHill™ on April 14, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. I believed that MaverickHill™ was very much necessary and set out on an effective way to make it happen. The brand began as a retail collection with a blog, however, the brand is continuing to grow as a resource of information for women across the nation. MaverickHill™ has reached women all over the country, Canada and Europe. With your help, brilliance and creativity we hope to extend our brand to college women across the country.

SignatureEventsMaverickHill has established a list of signature events to be fulfilled around campuses nationwide. We have made the hard part easy; all you have to do is have fun planning. There should be at least four (4) at minimum to be completed each year or one (1) per semester. Make sure to have photographs taken to post on your social networks and spread the word about your hard work!

• Polish Party – The polish party is to be held with the MaverickHill™ Campus Representatives and freshmen girls. Usually to be done in the fall semester, this pillow talk-esque event should be a night of painting your fingernails, tips about getting glam and learning the in’s and out’s of campus life! Have everyone bring their favorite polish color! Be sure to include a Maverick Blue color!

• The Lipstick Circle – The MaverickHill™ signature brunch is assembled to establish a network between college age women and professionals that are located both on and off campus. This event should include a guest speaker and your favorite dress! Have your guest speaker to be dressed in appropriate attire and hand out Maverick Blue ribbons for attendees to wear upon entry. This may also serve as a fund raiser. Make sure your mimosa is with sparking cider!

• Lean, Mean, Halloween – The October event is in celebration of Halloween. Put on your favorite biker girl attire paired with a piece from MaverickHill™ and hand out candy on the festive day.

• Partner Up – This is an event that can be done in conjunction with another women’s empowerment organization on campus. You can choose a sorority, a national council or even your girls volleyball team!

• Vision Board Party – The vision board party should consist of a few hours of fun in a location of your choice. Grab a bunch of magazines and ask participants to bring them too. Start with a little discussion, turn on your favorite tunes and have fun with cutting and pasting your futures. Remember to make it stick!

• Campus Storm – A campus storm involves all the members of your MaverickHill Campus Representative team promoting the brand by facilitating the footwork and talking to students, faculty and staff. During this time, you can pass out discount cards, sweet treats and/or snacks.

SignatureEvents• Community Service – The Campus

Representative team may participate in any community service event they choose.

• Maverick Discussions – The Maverick Discussions are round table talks regarding women and the untouchable, politically incorrect topics. This may range from sex and relationships to corporate leadership and unconventional career paths. Have fun, push the envelope – this is what MaverickHill™ is all about.

• Mavericks-in-Training – Mavericks-in-Training can be facilitated with students or young girls at a local high school, group home or community center. The event can also be held on campus and should involve their parents too. A tour of the campus facilities and a brief talk about college life is a must. The participants should be girls age 12-18 (high school seniors). During this event, you will be able to implement any of the other signature programs. You may choose a day of community service, an age appropriate Maverick Discussion or you may choose to have a Vision Board Party.

• Social Madness – Start a fun game with your social network followers. Possibly a “Hashtag Challenge” or a “Repost Game”. Choose to get your followers engaged. Social engagement is a way to get your campus involved. All of the Campus Representatives should not only publicize but participate in the social madness.

• The Wild Card- This event may be any thing of your choice! Please have this event approved by submitting your request to [email protected].

TheGood StuffCampus Marketing Flyers:As a MaverickHill™ Campus Representative a major part of your role is to spread awareness about the brand. Initially, you will be given marketing flyers to use as a reference while speaking with classmates about the brand. The flyer has a place on the back with a box for you to neatly write your name. We can keep track of outstanding performers and high sellers through your own discount code. You will be recognized and rewarded with gift cards, honorable mentions or free apparel as we can keep a count of how well you’re doing. Your Campus Representative Lead will have all of the additional flyers if you run out, please notify them when you are getting low.

Letters of Recommendation:We will provide each of you with a Letter of Recommendation at the completion of the academic year upon request. This letter must be requested at least 2 weeks in advance and you must include to whom the letter must be addressed or if you would prefer a general letter.

Have Your Idea Featured:Starting Spring 2015, we will facilitate a competition each semester between all of the Campus Representatives across the nation. Each campus will submit a collaborative idea. The idea will be voted on and chosen by the MaverickHill™ management team. The winning team will each win a free shirt of the winning concept and have the shirt named after them! We will also announce the winner via social media and a press release!

The MHCR Network:The MaverickHill™ Campus Reps Network will be an ongoing group of collegiate women you will connect with across the nation. We will facilitate opportunities to communicate with collegiate mavericks and power women across the country. Stay tuned for more exciting news as we grow our Campus Representative network!

MaverickHill Sponsorship/Requests:We are happy to help! We just ask that you give us enough time to do so. All requests must be submitted in writing to us via email to [email protected]. Please include information regarding your inquiry, appropriate dates, quantities and mailing information.

CampusTablingTabling gives you the opportunity to talk to multiple students about MaverickHill™, and also establishes a solid presence for you as the Campus Representative. Your goal is to build rapport with as many students as possible! You’ll want to create an attractive, approachable set-up so students are inclined to stop and check it out. At your table, you will be speaking to students about MaverickHill™ and retaining their names and emails so that you can keep in touch with them and expand your database of potential loyal customers. Every school has different policies and procedures for tabling on campus, so it’s best to do some research EARLY. If you’re not sure who to contact about this, try the student union or student activities office. Once you know what the procedure is, get started right away! There may be paperwork to fill out, or you might have to reserve dates far in advance. If you can schedule several dates at once, it might be worth your while to make plans to table a few days per semester. Try to table during high-traffic times, such as lunchtime. Get your materials ready! Make sure the MaverickHill™ Campus Representative Coordinator knows your tabling schedule so she can get you all the materials you’ll need. Here’s what you’ll definitely want at your table:• MaverickHill™ flyer’s• Handmade photobooth props for photos• Tri-Fold board of your MaverickHill™ campus involvement • Paper weights (wind + paper = big mess)• Laptop or Tablet to sign students up to our mailing list• Individually wrapped candy/snacks • Other fun decorations i.e. Balloons, Bows or Ribbons Helpful hints: If you have a team, everyone MUST participate!Ask your friends or classmates you’ve met on campus to stop by your table.Be informed – make sure you know what you’re talking about! Final points – be loud (make a scene), be proud (wear your MaverickHill™ uniform) and most importantly have fun! Enthusiasm is contagious – spread the word!
