Management in Crisis
The Great East Japan Earthquake and tsu-nami of March 11 2011 inicted heavy damage on Japan. In addition to the enor-mous loss of life, Japan experienced the destruction of many workplaces, various supply chains and a deal of its infrastruc-ture. The serious accident at the nuclear power plants in Fukushima severely im-pacted a great number of people’ s lives and businesses. However, the sources of eco-nomic crisis are found not only in natural disasters, but also in social causes as well.
The EU has been facing difculties brought about by the debt crisis besetting several member countries. Such crises have been amplied because of the globalization of economic activities. In addition, business management is often confronted with more specic, but no less serious, organizational crises. It is not at all unusual that managers must deal with on-going crises today as part of their managerial role. What should man-agement do? How can management studies deal with crisis in today´s global and high-tech society? What is the role of manage-ment researchers in an era of social and environmental crisis? These are some of the fundamental questions which we seek to capture in our conference theme.

Tokyo Visitor´s Guide
Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is one of the most interesting destinations for the interna-tional conferences. The city has a lot to offer. It has an unmatchable variety and quality of restaurants. There are many great international restaurants as well as traditional Japanese cuisine. Akihabara, approximately 15minutes by train from nearby station, is famous worldwide as the center for electric and electronic goods and is a leading area for multimedia. While you wonder in this district of technologies, you will also find the same place known for “sacred” place for otaku to get Japanese anime, comics, and idols, and visit the maid cafes. The town is becoming more and more attractive for Japanese pop culture fans everyday. Ginza is a district known to be the first modern shopping area in Tokyo. The area boasts a plethora of department stores, top global designer brand shops and venerable Japanese shops on the main streets. In addition to shopping, this district is also home to theaters and more than 200 art galleries. Recently renovated Kabuki-za (Japanese traditional theater) is worth a visit even if you are not going to see a show. You can find traditional crafts and snacks in the Asakusa area. Just across the Sumida River stands the impressive Kaminari-mon Gate (Thunder Gate), with its large red lantern. If you travel a little more to Ryogoku area you may run into a Sumo wrestler. You can also find the tallest freestanding broadcasting tower in the world, “Sky Tree”, in this same area.
