We do accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover from parents and volunteers. The store will also be open during lunch times if parents would like to shop with their child, Store hours are from 9:00am-3:00pm. As part of Maple Grove’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Programming, ROCK S.T.A.R.S. we are focusing on going above and beyond. Going above and beyond requires that everyone do his/her part plus a little more. Going above and beyond requires that people act responsibly and do their best. If everyone did his/her best, we would rarely encounter the attitude that “It’s not my problem,” and the world would be a much more peaceful place. Encourage your child to take a risk and go above and beyond in order to achieve a goal. We are often unsure of ourselves and afraid to take a risk to reach a goal. Talk with your child about things he/she would like to achieve. Fun Family Tips: * As a family, go above and beyond in helping someone out. Give someone a “great day.” Maybe you have a neighbor with young children. You can give her a break by preparing a meal for her family or by volunteering your family for a night of babysitting. * Point out times when your child goes above and beyond. Praise him/her for these actions! Thank you for your continued support!

Maple Grove is trying something new . . . A Holiday Book Fair! December 7-11 will be the next Book Fair.

Many parents have asked about doing something like Santa’s Workshop, which is a program where students can purchase gifts for family and friends if they wish. PTO thought it would be exciting to try this concept with a book fair. What a fun experi-ence this could be for your child to pick out gifts for siblings, friends, and even parents.

Your child will be scheduled to attend the fair during his/her class Library time. On that day, please send cash or a check (made out to Maple Grove PTO). We do accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover from parents and volunteers. The store will also be open during lunch times if parents would like to shop with their child, Store hours are from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Can’t make it during the day but want to grab a couple gifts yourself? We are having an Open House event for you. Please join us on Tuesday, December 8th from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

As part of Maple Grove’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Programming, ROCK S.T.A.R.S. we are

focusing on going above and beyond. Going above and beyond requires that everyone do his/her part plus a little

more. Going above and beyond requires that people act responsibly and do their best. If everyone did his/her

best, we would rarely encounter the attitude that “It’s not my problem,” and the world would be a much more

peaceful place. Encourage your child to take a risk and go above and beyond in order to achieve a goal. We are

often unsure of ourselves and afraid to take a risk to reach a goal. Talk with your child about things he/she would

like to achieve.

Fun Family Tips: * As a family, go above and beyond in helping someone out. Give someone a “great day.” Maybe you have a

neighbor with young children. You can give her a break by preparing a meal for her family or by volunteering your

family for a night of babysitting.

* Point out times when your child goes above and beyond. Praise him/her for these actions!

Thank you for your continued support!

Save the Penguins!

Second grade is selling Smencils to adopt a penguin from the

Indianapolis Zoo and enhance our penguins’ study. We need to raise

a total of $200 for each classroom to adopt their own penguin.

Smencils cost $1 each. Each Smencil pencil is made out of 100%

recycled newspaper. You can purchase a Smencil in the primary and

intermediate hallways from Tuesday, Dec. 8-Friday, Dec. 11.

Thank you for supporting second grade and our

penguins! We appreciate it!

Every year our library has a

Bookmark Contest for the 4th and 5th graders.

Contestants are asked to create a catchy bookmark

that would encourage

reading. The winning bookmarks are then printed

and available in the library all year long.

Thank you to all of the 4th

and 5th graders who participated in the Bookmark

Contest this year. We had some really great entries and

it was difficult to narrow

them down to 5 winners.

The winners are: (in alphabetical order)

4th grade: BRODY

BOSWELL, JENNA KRYDER, ADDY POYNTER, GRAYSON

ROBERTS, MATTHEW YODER

5th grade: KAYLA BRI-ANT, EVAN DUNKLE, MAREK

OGANOWSKI, CASSIDY WEST, JACK WILLIAMS

Congratulations to all the

winners!
