Newton Teachers Use PLO Maps in High School History Classes

The Newton Public Schools (NPS) has confirmed that the map sequence below is distributed in sections of a required World History course. (See Anti-Defamation League report, third page).

The screenshots below show that a map series used in Newton high school history classes was made and distributed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Students are not notified of the origins of the map sequence._________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This is the map sequence distributed to NPS students. It does not indicate a source and does not include any disclaimer. The map sequence was published on the website of the Negotiation Affairs Division (“NAD”) of the Palestine Liberation Organiation (“PLO”).

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) condemned the advertisement as “deliberately misleading and biased” and an attempt to “delegitimatiz[e] Israel”.

This is the same map sequence on the website of the Negotiation Affairs Division (“NAD”) of the Palestine Liberation Orgnization (“PLO”). Note the URL which confirms that the map sequence is used as part of the PLO’s propaganda campaign. Also note the disclaimer at the lower right of the sequence stating “These maps are for illustrative purposes only. Boundary representations are not authoritative”. See below for further confirmation that the URL www.nad-plo.org is owned by the PLO.
