trial chaos and confusions in the

history of the Malankara Orthodox

Church. The pioneer Vattasseril

Mar Dionysius with his shrewdness,

dedication, iron determination and

the unsheltered faith in the Almighty,

was able to navigate the church

through the turbulent ocean and

anchor it in a very comfortable and

Mar Dionysius Senior Secondary School is

a very prestigious institution established

in the year 1993 is in honor of St. Dionysius in

his home-town, Mallappally. The institution is

to uphold the values and cherish the dreams of

the great visionary, our patron saint, popularily

known as Vattaseril Thirumeni.

Objectives

The school aims to provide quality and holistic education

which will make children free and complete individuals .

The School fosters a caring and creative environment;

and emphasizes the social, emotional, physical,

The school curriculum Mar Dionysius Senior Secondary School is a reputed

institution which follows the syllabus and curriculum

of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),

New Delhi. The medium of instruction is English. The

school offers a wide variety of subjects which would

enable them to make their learning a pleasurable

experience.

School Uniforms Separate Uniforms are there for the kindergarten, the

Primary and Secondary and the Senior Secondary

levels.

Hostel facilities Separate Hostel are available for Boys and girls. The

spacious hostels aim at the comfort and confidence

of the students who are taken care of well by efficient

wardens.

Chapel The school has a chapel, which is kept open to all. It

caters to the spiritual empowerment of the children.

Holy Qurbana is celebrated every Sunday.

Remedial Education The school caters to the special needs of ‘children with

learning difficulties. Earlier identification, special care

and different teaching methodologies are adopted for

slow learners, children with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

School Conveyance The school has got a fleet of school-buses to

transport the students in major routes. It makes

sure the smooth and comfortable conveyance

of the students from homes to the school and

viceversa.

Digital classrooms Interactive learning is the best form of learning.

Learning through experience is the basic principle

of learning. Bearing in mind these aspects, the

school gives emphasis to digital and computer

aided teaching programme. The teachers are

empowered for handling digital classrooms

supported by NIIT and Teach Next companies.

Laboratories There are well equipped, spacious and well

maintained laboratories available for Physics,

Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Home Science and

Computer Science. They cater for the experimental

skill of the students.

The school libraryThe school has a very spacious library with a stock of

more than 10,000 books. Every year the school adds quite

a good number of books to make it richer. To promote the

reading habit, the school celebrates a reading week every

year with a variety of literary programmes. However, a

‘reading time’ is observed every Friday after the noon

interval.

The school BandMar Dionysius School has a very well-trained music band

of selected students from various classes. The Band is the

real pride of the school.

Physical Education ClassesThe school gives special stress to the physical well being

of students. A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body. We

have well qualified personnel to give them good training.

Special Coaching in Sports & GamesSpecial coaching and separate courts are provided

for talented and interested students for Throw

Ball, Badminton, Football and Basket Ball. Mar

Dionysius School conducts an interschool Basket

Ball Tournament every year and awards the

winning school the ‘Dionz Trophy’ (ever rolling).

Parent –Teacher Association

The PTA is very active and extends its services and

support for the benefit and welfare of the school

and the students. Apart from the PTA General Body

there is a PTA Executive Committee comprising

of the PTA President, Administrator, Principal,

Vice Principal, Section-Heads and the parent

representatives of individual classes. It meets

frequently to plan and take important decisions.

Academics and faculty

The classes are handled by trained, experienced

and efficient hands. The school has a team of

dedicated and hard-working staff.

Entrance Coaching and other

academic Specialities

Entrance coaching is rendered to the students

aiming at admissions to medical courses and

engineering colleges. All India medical and IIT

– JEE (Advanced) Entrance Coaching by Inspire

Learning co., the pioneer in Entrance coaching in

Kerala, offers a fully residential Integrated Science

Program which prepares the students for IIT,

IISER, IIST, JEE and Medical Entrances at National

and State levels and also for various competitive

examinations.

The experienced and committed teaching faculty of

Inspire Learning group include Mr. G.K. Venugopal

(a very efficient Mathematics teacher – winner

of many National Awards for the best teacher),

Dr. V Rajmohan (former HOD, Dept. of Chemistry,

NSS College Changanacherry) and a number of

them yet to be mentioned.

The school also prepares commerce students for

the entrance tests for Chartered Accountancy

(CA)Company Secretaryship (CS), CMA, Law, Bank

tests, CAT, MAT etc.

Co-curricular Activities

Mar Dionysius School offers excellent opportunities for identifying, nurturing and developing the innate talents of the students. Special Coaching classes are arranged for Karate, classical and instrumental music, break-classical and folk dances, drawing, painting, Art and Craft, Needle work, Tailoring, Roller skating, Yoga, Quizzing and a lot more. Students actively participate in Sahodaya level competitions and win many trophies every year.

Houses and clubs

The students are divided into four houses. Inter-house competitions are conducted throughout the year and the trophy is given to the best performing house.

There are various clubs like science club, Mathematics club, literary Club, Sports Club, Quiz club etc.

Religious Clubs

Even though the school is under the Christian management, it respects and promotes the values of all religions. The religious meetings are conducted by the member students of the individual religions under the supervision of the teachers.

The school has a guidance and counseling centre which help the students as well as their

AISSE, AISSCE and Sahodaya

Youth Festivals

Mar Dionysius Senior Secondary School, Rishi Valley, Mallappally is a leading and prominent

member of the central Travancore Sahodaya Complex. In the AISSE and AISSCE examinations,

conducted by the CBSE, quite a large out as outstanding, scoring above 95% of marks. The

toppers of most of the subjects are the ‘Dionysians’. In the Youth Festivals also our wards

exhibit a very remarkable performance that they come up usually as the best of the schools

or the first runner – up.
