SC, June 9-11th 2017! Winners from State Finals will continue their journey by representing your state at the National level at our 2017 MAR-USA Nationals in Gatlinburg TN, August 4-6th 2017! 2017 Carolina State Finals will be an experience that will be fun, rewarding and most of all a time for you to shine. From meeting new friends to making life time memories we promise this will be an event you will enjoy from the beginning to the end! We are focused on positive pageantry and providing a stress free, drama free event- That is not only fun but a chance to win some amazing awards and yes State titles. 2017 Carolina State Finals theme is “The Roaring Twenties”! This is going to be an amazing weekend! We have custom MAR-USA State crowns, amazing awards, tons of custom MAR-USA awards, Custom MAR-USA Marc Defang prizes and a multi-tude of titles to be awarded! We will host two parties at State that you do not want to miss! Our first party will be opening ceremony, we will have some amazing surprises in store for you as well as opening number where all contestant can partici-pate in. Those whom choose to participate in the opening number will also be able to purchase our MAR-USA State opening number shoes from Marc Defang for our MAR-USA VIP price! Our second party is like two parties in one! We will have a 1920’s themed Mystery Dinner Party concluding with a Dance party with DJ Jammin JP! Competition has many options this year, giving everyone a variety of choices for competition! Also do not forget our Sponsorship Ambassador program, you can earn your way to state for FREE! MAR-USA is a one of kind pageant system. We are a family here at MAR-USA! We have a very strong focus on making a

difference not only within our communities but within each member of our MAR-USA family. We strive to create an envi-

ronment where everyone can feel welcomed and as a part of the group. We strive to build confidence in each contestant

and we hope to have each contestant feel proud of their accomplishments rather they win the highest title or not. We hope

to empower and encourage our contestants and royalty to go out in the world and make a difference. We support all of our

contestants goals, ambitions and platforms. Our National Platform is Autism Awareness. Our National motto is “Together We CAN Make A Difference” , and here at

MAR-USA we truly feel together we CAN make a difference, one crown at a time! Use your crown for good, always look for

opportunities where you can make a difference rather its volunteering, choosing a platform, community service, starting a

program to help others or a public appearances , you can make a difference ! For our younger girls, we have a strong em-

phasis on sisterhood, so we encourage all of our older girls to be great role models and good pageant sister’s to our younger girls!

Competition Information

Mandatory Entry

Mandatory is required for everyone.

It includes Beauty/Formal Wear, 1 photogenic

Entry, Poster Entry, Scrapbook entry and the Ultimate

Grand Supreme entry. By entering the mandatory entry you are eligible to win age division Queen, Duchess, Princess as well

as age divisional runner up.

You also have the opportunity to win UGS.

(The UGS is the 1 lucky contestant with highest score) You have your 1 photogenic entry, Poster Entry, and Scrap-

book entry which you can use as your optionals to go towards

your final score. The highest scoring optional will be com-

bined with your formal score, the winner will be the contestant with the highest formal and optional score combined.

Optional Categories

“Onstage Optionals”

These are optionals which are LIVE onstage optionals.

Theme Wear: Our theme is “The Roaring Twenties” During theme wear it’s a great time to show your personality

and have fun! Pick an outfit from the 20’s and rock it on the

stage! 20’s music will be played.

Talent: All talents are welcomed! We even have a piano available! If you choose a talent which is in the comedic na-

ture be sure to keep it PG and family friendly!

Runway Model: Runway model is another area of competi-

tion which you can show your personality and strut your stuff on stage! With runway we require your outfit to be at least

50% black.

“Privately Judged Optionals”

This optional is not done on stage however with the judges in a private room. We open this to ages 6 and up.

Private Interview: We highly encourage private interview for

contestant 9 and up. It’s a great time to meet the judges one on

one. Question’s asked by the judges are based on your per-sonal information submitted.

“Submission Optionals”

These are optionals which are submitted and judged prior to

pageant date. Winners of these optionals are included in the program and part of the live event.

Cover Model: Cover photos should be head shots. The cover

model winner will have their winning photo on the inside

cover of the program. Centerfold Model: Centerfold photos should be full body

shots, modeling style. The centerfold winner will have their

winning photo featured on a full page within the program.

Themed Photo Model: Themed photo can be any photo style with a “theme”. The theme winner will have their winning

photo featured on a full page within the program.

Essay: Write a minimum 1 page essay. The essay topic for 2017 is “What has pageantry done for you…” the winner will

have the opportunity to read their essay at the crowning cere-

mony. With the option of being featured on the website.

TV Star: This is a 30 sec. to 1 minute video submission of a mini skit or commercial. The winners video will be featured

and played at the crowning ceremony. The video will also be

professional edited and included in our MAR-USA social

media 2017 commercial.

Earned TITLES

Earned titles are either FREE to enter or Included

LOVE AWARD: Our LOVE AWARD is awarded to

the contestant with the winning Poster Submission. The poster’s theme is “Autism Awareness” - These

are submitted at check in.

HEART AWARD: Our HEART AWARD is

awarded to the contestant with the winning Scrap-book Submission. The Scrapbook should show what

you have done within the community during your

reign. (Community Service, Public appearances etc.)

Spokesmodel Award: Our spokesmodel award is awarded to the contestant with the most referrals

throughout the season.

Humanitarian Award: Our Humanitarian Award is

awarded to the contestant with the most items col-lected and submitted at check in for requested dona-

tion items. (This years items are School Supplies, to

be donated to local Level 1 schools)

Miss Congeniality Award: Our Miss Congeniality Award will be awarded to the contestant with the

most votes from the other contestants. Being kind and

helpful to others deserves to be awarded.

Carolina Choice Award: This is the viewers choice award. $1 equals 1 vote, the contestant with the most

votes will be awarded the Carolina Choice Award.

Ambassador: Our pageant Ambassadors are the con-

testants with the most ads sold. See our Ambassador program page for more information.

~Professional Choreographed~ The routine will be recorded and the video will be sent to all participating contestants to review and practice. The choreographer will be present and rehearsal will take place Friday during check in hours. Group rehearsal will take place prior to Opening Ceremony. The routine will be fun and simple. Easy for all ages and all ability levels. (Open ceremony is not required but defiantly sure to be fun)

RULES AND REGULATIONS

MAR-USA #1 Rule: NO DRAMA!

Attire Rules -Dresses-

.Here at MAR-USA we prefer long floor length dresses on contestants 6 and

up. However we do allow cupcake dresses to be worn up to the Little Miss Di-vision. Young Miss and up are required floor length dresses only.

We allow all ages to wear floor length dresses.

Dresses can be custom made however we DO NOT ALLOW GLITZ style dresses. No GLITZ simply means no overly embezzled dresses with added

cuffs, giant bows etc. We like dresses to enhance but not take away from the girl/lady.

Be sure your dress isn't overly revealing. Judges : when a judge is judging your dress they are looking for a few key

elements:

* the fit, does the dress fit you well * the style and color, does it enhance your natural beauty

. If you have questions about a specific dress we can advise rather its allowed or not but we cannot say 100% the judges scores or opinions.

Hair, Makeup and Other Makeup: Light makeup is allowed for all ages but keep it natural. For ages 9 and under: NO FAKE EYES LASHES

Hair: NO WIGS or WIGLETS Allowed (unless medically needed) For ages 9 and under: NO EXTENTIONS ALLOWED

Tans: For ages 10 and up spray tans are allowed, for 9 and under no Spray tans allowed but lotion or natural tans are allowed.

Teeth: NO FLIPPERS ALLOWED at any age. Fake Nails: We do not mind fake nails as long as they are at a natural And age appropriate length.

2017 Carolina State Finals will be held in this beautiful Historical theater, which has been fabulously remodeled and suited for royalty– Miss American Royalty USA! The full weekend will be Live Streamed for family and friends at home to enjoy! A Beautiful and Elegant dressing room and pre-stage prep area to pamper yourself as you prepare to take the stage. We will even have our full runway!

The theater is only 15 short minutes from our Amazing Host Resort

Our beautiful host resort ~ Litchfield At The Beach in beautiful Pawley's Island SC.

Our Dance and Dinner Party will be hosted by the Resort.
