María Toledo, icon of present day flamenco, is the first woman in the history of flamenco who sings accompanying herself at the piano. With six published records and five nominations to the Latin Grammys, she has won a large number of awards, including the Las Minas International Cante Festival Beginner’s Award, First Prize at the Biennial of Cadiz, and Special Prize for the Cantaora Más Larga and Prize for Cantes de Compas at Mairena de Alcor.
