About the artist

MARCELO VIEIRA (MarceloTrack) is a VJ, video artist, photographer, music composer and producer, who

attended for one year the Film College (Estacio de Sa University) and then He started studying and graduated

in Cultural Production at Fluminense Federal University. He also has a Master Degree in Art Science at the

same University (UFF), his master’s research project was a study of video-performances (VJing, AVing,

VideoMapping, Live cinema, etc.).

2015 - vIDEO EDITINg @ JOREL´S bROTHER - COpA STUDIO / CARTOON NETwORkbRASIL.Since the first half of 2014, I am proud to

become part of a beautiful TV series, in which

i work as video editor, creating animatics and

some of the funny vignettes of the cartoon.

It´s already considered by critics one of the

best TV animated series ever made in Brazil.

2013 - vIDEO-SCENOgRApHY/vJINg FOR “v.I.S.T.O - vIDEO CHOREOgRApHICOCCUpATIONS”, pORTO ALEgRE, RS, bRAzIL

Held at Casa Mario Quintana, in Porto Alegre,

V.I.S.T.O - Video choreographic Occupations with

Roberta Savian and Andreas Guenther, was one

of the biggest challenges I've had as an artist.

Funded with Petrobras Funarte dance KlaussVianna award in 2012, after going through some

troubles, being stolen for example, we worked

hard and put together a beautiful spectacle and

earned 5 of 10 nominations of the Açorianos

Dance Award including Best Entertainment, Soundtrack and Set Design (Marcelo).

In this project, I was responsible for creating the mapped video-scenario and production of some

videographic contents that were added to the contents of artists like Marcia Paveck, Elaine Savian and

Lisette Padilha (from Cuba).

CONTRACTIONS OF CINEmA, 2013

The project "Contr(actions) of Cinema" uses the work of French filmmaker Jean Luc Godard as backdrop for this

polemic AV performance, creating a set of senses, full of irony, rhythm, and theatricality, which explores the

filmmaker's obsession to think and rethink the relationship picture / word - like the use of words contractions in

the movie "Sympathy for the Devil" (documentary made with the band "the Rolling Stones"), the limits of

authorship and intellectual property as well as the political and social contradictions of the western world.

Recontextualizing his work in contemporaneity, Wilson and Marcelo create a beautiful and disturbing spectacle,

connecting the vast and dense content from Godard´s movies to the boiling cauldron of the current political

scene filled with rock'n'roll, electronic music and a strong desire for transformation . This was the first artistic

show with the mobile scenographic project developed by Marcelo Vieira.

2011-2012 – pHITODELIA – INTERACTIvE vIDEO INSTALLATION/Av pERFORmANCE



Marcelo Vieira participated in a event

called STREET RADIO, at the margins of

Guanabara Bay (Rio de Janeiro), with his

interactive video installation

PHITODELIA#1. Collaborated with this

project, students and supporters of the

VJing and Editing Course, taught by himat the CASA VIVA NGO, located in the

community of Manguinhos (a slum in

Rio), with the institutional support of the

social service sector of FIOCRUZ

Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) - RJ.

Months later, at St. Gabriel´s Halls, in

London, Marcelo held PHITODELIA#2, in

closed session for guests, a musical

performance interacting live with the

basson played by Luke Crookes and the

Marcelo’s acoustic guitar.

Installation held at Espaço Imaginaruim (Rio de Janeiro city) and at Gragoatá Campus UFF (Fluminense

Federal University – Niterói city).



2010 - pINTANDO O 7 (mESSINg AROUND) - LIvE CINEmA @ Lpm-LIvE pERFORmERSmEETINg, ROmE, IT

In this performance, Marcelo plays flute that interacts directly with the image on the screen. The song

Pintando o 7, composed by himself in partnership with Wagner Valin, is the basis of the performance. The

video clip shown at this event was filmed in Niterói (RJ) and it changed as he played his flute.

This exhibition brought together a collection of photographs of Marcelo Vieira associated with poetry of

many writers, such as Tchello Mello, Luis Araujo and Arthur Coelho. From this exhibition the song

“Coragem” (Courage) was born, and recorded later by his band "Osquestra do Absurdo".
