March 20, 2020 Dear CCSD Families and Community Members: CCSD continues our work to tighten our distance delivery education model that will begin on Monday, March 30. The CCSD staff has done a tremendous job of collaborating, sharing resources, and helping each other develop viable educational options for our students and families. As we begin this new way of being for CCSD, we will encounter some roadblocks that we just can’t predict at this time. If there are any issues, concerns or questions that you or your student(s) have please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s teacher, principal, or me immediately. We will do everything at our disposal to resolve any issues that might arise and help make this the best learning experience possible for your student(s). Some items that are important for our parents and community members to be aware of as we return to school on Monday, March 30 are the following: All district buildings will be closed and off limits for public and staff use. The majority of CCSD’s employees will be working from home starting on Monday, March 30 to minimize the possibility of CCSD staff becoming infected with the virus and accidentally spreading the virus. The only CCSD personnel that will be working on site (Craig Elementary School) are our kitchen staff who will be preparing breakfasts and lunches for delivery to students, maintenance and custodial staff who will be deep cleaning all of the buildings, and district office personnel who will need to continue taking care of the business operations of the district. CCSD will continue providing counseling services to students. Our K-12 counselor will share contact information to students and families after the completion of spring break. CCSD is developing a delivery schedule for breakfast and lunch food service starting on March 30. That schedule will be finalized next week and once finalized we will share it with all families. Please remember that CCSD is planning for our distance delivery education model to operate from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 10. That is all the information we have as of the writing of this letter As we receive more information from the Department of Education and Early Development we will share that information immediately. Thank you for your patience. Our current situation has definitely added a level of stress to all of our lives. CCSD’s goal is that we don’t accidentally add any additional stress to our families’ lives and that we continue our service as a resource and partner with our families in the education of the students we are privileged to serve. Thank you for your continued support and guidance as we navigate these challenging times. Sincerely, Chris Reitan, CCSD Superintendent Email: [email protected]

We will do everything at our disposal to resolve any issues that might arise and help make this the best learning experience possible for your student(s). Some items that are important for our parents and community members to be aware of as we return to school on Monday, March 30 are the following:

• All district buildings will be closed and off limits for public and staff use. • The majority of CCSD’s employees will be working from home starting on Monday, March 30 to minimize

• CCSD will continue providing counseling services to students. Our K-12 counselor will share contact information to students and families after the completion of spring break.

• CCSD is developing a delivery schedule for breakfast and lunch food service starting on March 30. That schedule will be finalized next week and once finalized we will share it with all families.

Please remember that CCSD is planning for our distance delivery education model to operate from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 10.
