What is the Purpose of Feed the Bay? For the community and church to come together as one body of Christ and fill the food pantries of the participating four counties for six months to one year. Our goal is to collect 250,000 pounds of food for the pantries.How does Feed the Bay work?1. On Sunday, March 25, each church congregation will be given a grocery list at their worship services. Leaders of each church will challenge their congre-gation to leave church and go shop at participating Publix Super Markets or other stores closest to their home between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for the benefit of those in need in our communities. 2. Shoppers and their families take the list to a grocery store to purchase whatever items they choose to buy.3. After shopping, they drop their purchase off to volunteers located at semi trucks parked in lots right outside the participating stores. Volunteers then load the food on the trucks.4. At 2:30 pm drivers will take the trucks and head to each of the food pantries. 5. Once at the food pantry site church volunteers, working alongside agency volunteers and staff, will unload and sort the donated items.

Seffner Christian Academy, which was established in 1983, is a private, Christian school which has approximately 650 students in grades K2 through 12. Seffner Christian Academy has a tradition of excellence in the Tampa Bay area and offers a wide range of opportunities for each student. SCA is accredited by ASCI (Association of Christian Schools International) and SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). SCA’s preschool program has the convenience of child care being open from 6am to 6pm. Phonics are an important base of the academic program, and students learn in fun, interactive centers. Students also have library time, computer, PE, and music classes that are taught by qualified and caring teachers in a secure and gated facility. Hot lunch is available for an additional fee. Throughout the school year, students enjoy the “Timeless Tales” drama productions approximately every six weeks and also learn health through the “Teddy Bear Clinic” and “Germaine the Germ.” Our kindergarten is filled with fun and excitement as we take learning to a new level. Letters and sounds come alive as we intro-duce new reading concepts and poetry. Math class is enhanced by manipulatives and a play store to reinforce the concepts of numbers and money. Kindergarteners explore culture by learning about children in different nations. Science is introduced using creationism as the foundation for our world. Students in kindergarten have a variety of special classes, including PE, music, art, library, and com-puter. Seffner Christian Academy’s education extends all the way to grade 12 with approximately 90% of its graduates attending college. A wide range of athletic and fine arts opportunities are avail-able to our students. Students receive all academics with a Christian world view which enables them to be future leaders in our churches and communities.
