Reaching Out! WPRZ at the 9th Annual Orange County

Fishing and Sportsman’s Expo!

We love getting out into the community to make more people aware of WPRZ and to support great wholesome events for teens such as the Fishing and Sportsman’s Expo. The kids in the Orange County High School and Madison County High School 4-H and B.A.S.S. Federation Nation– VA Youth Bass Fishing Teams are some really great kids and go out of their way to help us set up and break down! Some of the kids in these fishing teams have won national awards! The Fishing Expo is under the direction of Becky Gore, teacher and youth advisor of the fishing teams. Becky wanted us to thank everyone as follows: “On behalf of the Orange County High School and Madison County High School 4-H and B.A.S.S. Federation Nation – VA Youth Bass Fishing Teams, we thank all of the local individual citizens that attended, all of the businesses that either sponsored or donated items, and the parents and volunteers that worked throughout the weekend at the event. It was a tremendous success, and is such a win-win opportunity for both the exhibitors and our youth programs. This event serves as a major life time opportunity for these youth to practice developing their skills in marketing, team building, public relations and service. Proceeds from the event will support their many activities throughout the coming year. For highlights of the event check out www.ochsanglers.com.” Sincerely, Rebecca Gore, Advisor, OCHS Team; Lucky Graves, Advisor, Madison County Team; Michael Sidle, President, and James Graves, President, of the two respective teams.

March 1–12 Selections from Jars of Clay Alistair continues this series on how God can take and “ordinary” person and use them for His eternal purposes, like a jar of clay. Mar. 13-27 Seven Marks of an Effective Church What makes a church effective? Is it having a functional building, excellent worship music, a vibrant youth program or a teaching ministry? Our answers may vary, but the burgeoning church in the book of Acts clearly provides us with seven elements to which every church should strive. These marks include the apostles’ teachings, fellowship, the sacraments, prayer, mutual care, worship, and continuous evangelism.

Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah

Mon-Fri 12:30 am, 5:30 am & 12 noon

Turning Point P.O. Box 3838 San Diego, CA 92163 1-800-947-1993 www.davidjeremiah.org March 5–22 What Do You Think? Do you want a better life, but don’t know how to attain it? Join Dr. David Jeremiah on Turning Point, as he explores the time-tested truth that changing your life starts by changing how you think. Discover what it means to have the mind of Christ with David’s series, What Do You Think?

March 25–June 30 The Handwriting on the Wall It’s been assaulted more than any other book by critics of the Bible, yet it continues to stand the test of time as the prophetic calendar for the world. Join us for Turning Point as Dr. David Jeremiah sheds light on the Book of Daniel in his series, The Handwriting on the Wall.

For a donation of any amount to Turning Point in March, you can request the book by R. Morgan, “The Lord Is My Shepherd”.

We handed out material about the station including flyers inviting people to listen to “God’s Great Outdoors” and our two Bluegrass shows!!

We also gave away a big WPRZ Disaster Preparedness Gift Basket! The winner was Brenda Mills of Orange.
