All Members Welcome
With any luck, with the end of summer, we could possibly see the winds dissipate
and we can still get a good few weeks of really good boating weather so that we
can all get some more use out of our toys.
If things improve, and our facilities do come under pressure, please remain
patient, follow the rules, and treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
There has still been a few complaints from members that have come from others
not doing the right thing. The last thing the Management Committee want to do is
spend hours treating our adult members to infringement notices about poor
behavior, or not following club rules.
Our fish cleaning station is nearing completion with a little bit of work to do
around the edge to improve the landscaping and make the area more presentable.
The Management Committee hopes that this facility will be used frequently by
club members. Please treat the area with respect and leave the fish cleaning table
and surrounding area in a clean condition after use.
We are also in the process of drawing up a new traffic management and parking
plan for the club grounds. The plan here is to maximize the use of the area, and
have a plan to cope with the growing size of some members rigs. More
information as this develops.
There are a couple of social functions coming up. Please check the calendar on
the website, and if you can get along, you will be very welcome.

For the month of February there was no comp; the
weather gods were not on our side. The both
weekends that were planned the Bureau of
meteorology issued strong wind warnings.
There was an excellent turn out for the February
SFG meeting the next meeting date is Monday 16th
March this follows the comp weekend that is being
held 14th & 15th March.
The next up and coming event is the Shark Bay
week which will be the last week in March and
Mike Sanders has put together a fun competition for
the week. There are a number of members making
journey for all the members staying here wish you a
safe trip.
There are some boating and fishing training nights
coming up soon and when we have the dates they
will be in the newsletter.
After a “hard” day of boating
why not call in for a quick refreshment
at your Club.
CPBA Bar is open

We are happy to answer all your questions and help you plan a great event.
“Cockburn Power Boats is the perfect place to hold a function. As
a member I have held numerous
parties from my sons 21st to my daughter’s wedding.
I found the venue is of high standard and perfect for you to set
it up the way you would like it.
Definitely heaps of room; from cocktail parties to sit down dining
with the added bonus of a separate
room for pre-dinner drinks or buffet serving.
Excellent size dance floor with room for a DJ or band and
awesome ocean views. The bar
staff are very professional and attentive to your needs. They can
help to organise setting of the
venue from pre-drinks through to full-on service from the bar
throughout your night. Secured
parking is available for guests. If you are looking for that special
place contact The Club Manager you won’t be disappointed.
I thoroughly recommend Cockburn Power Boats for your next
function.

Launching & Retrieving Boats
Follow any direction given by the Bosun (when on duty) or other authorised club person. Entry into the ramp area is Via the Western (narrow) Road. Drive On/Drive Off method of launching and retrieving is not permitted on CPBA facilities as from July 1st 2010
For Launching:
All cars / trailers must pull into the curb-side rigging / de-rigging bays on the Eastern Side of the ramp area. i.e. Preparation Area. In the bay, make ready for launching (number plate, lights, bungs etc), attach rope line/s to Bow and Stern. When a ramp is clear and it is your turn in the queue to launch do so slowly and carefully, watch for pedestrians, other vehicles and boats. Immediately boat is launched move it along the jetty as far as possible and move the vehicle / trailer to an available bay in the car park area. Should you have engine or starting problems, or be waiting for others to arrive move your boat to a mooring pen (if possible) so that launching
and / or retrieving on the ramps is not impeded. When Retrieving All cars / trailers must pull into the curb-side rigging / de-rigging bays on the Eastern Side of the ramp area. i.e. Preparation Area. Make sure that your winch cable is unwound and ready to attach to your boat before you return to the ramp area. Where applicable please make sure your electric winch is also electrically connected and working before you return to the ramp area. Once in the ramp area, retrieve your boat and remove it from the ramp area (back into the bay where you previously parked if available) or to the
boat washing area if you prefer, or anywhere where it will not obstruct entry and / or exit areas or block other trailer movement. Now that you are not restricting other Member's movements, replace your number plate and light and don't forget to attach your safety chains and/
or ropes from your boat to your trailer. As most Members (especially on Club Activity Days) return at approximately the same time, when necessary the Bosun will try and direct you to
the best ramp available for retrieving so that you don't get stuck behind someone who has just launched and is getting ready to go out.
Remember The Rules!
Members are not to leave their boats unattended (parked on the hard stand) for more than 72 hours unless prior arrangements have been
made with the Club Manager. The maximum term is fourteen days in any eight week period. Permission for longer periods of stay must
be expressly obtained from the Club Manager prior. Charges will apply for any extension of time granted longer than the original
fourteen days, calculated at a day rate equivalent to twice the current maximum annual storage rate divided by 365 days.
Copies of the Club’s Constitution and House Rules can be obtained at the office or
downloaded from the Club’s website.
(Please advise the office if you are leaving your boat longer than overnight)
