Preschool I - By Mrs. Krystalynne Nelson Last month was by far a hectic month for us being that I was away for most of it, and I would like to first off thank you for your generous sympathy and understanding. With that being said, let’s start March off with turbo speed! Our curriculum theme is “What happens when…” This will be broken into four segments of: What happens when I mix liquids and solids, explore solids, make things happen, and use tools to create and communicate. For holidays this month we have the lovely Dr. Seuss birthday celebration from March 2-March 7. Throughout the week we will be reading various Dr. Seuss books and using our imaginations as he has for many years. We will also be having a St. Patrick’s Day party March 17th and our classroom will be awfully green and glittery all week! Please check our Facebook page as I will be posting conference times soon. Thank you!

Transition I and II - By Jenny Sixto and Mrs. Raquel Moody In March our theme is Up in the Sky. There’s a lot going on in that big, blue sky…from birds and bugs, planes and balloons,, to the moon and twinkling stars. There are so many topics to capture children’s wonder. Children will find themselves winding and twisting in barrel rolls of fun with all our adventures Up in the Sky!! Children’s imaginations will soar as we learn what makes machines fly, and where does weather come from, we’ll even try a takeoffs and landings ourselves.

Pre-Kindergarten I - By Mrs. Misti Leonard I am very excited about going back into the classroom this month. We will be focusing on assessments both academic and social. We will also be starting our new schedule and getting into our new routine. We will be doing phonics yoga in the mornings and relaxation techniques in the afternoon during quiet time. After assessments are done I will set up parent teacher conferences to go over the goals for your students. I would like to thank Eric’s mom for the wonderful job she has been doing as our room mom. The door has looked great every month and I think we will win competition in March. With the weather getting warmer I would like to get outside and enjoy it. We are thinking about going on a field trip, and are open to any suggestions you may have. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Preschool II - By Mrs. Misti Leonard Hello Parents! It has been an exciting week getting to know all my new students. I was so happy to be able to sit down and meet with many of you this week. If you were not able to schedule a conference in February, please let me know and we can set something up. Ms. Heidi and I have a lot of fun activities planned for March. The theme for March is: What Happens When. We will be doing some hands on experiments along with making observations about the world around us. This is a great theme for the, hopefully, warmer weather and longer days to come. Also, we have Dr. Seuss week and St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate.

Pre-Kindergarten II - By Mrs. Gabrielle Cassidy Hi Everyone! Spring is finally coming and we are going to have a busy March in Pre K 2. We Will be concentrating on lower case letters and I am going to start sending reading books home. I will be starting mo ey recognition for Math and our curriculum topic is 'What happens when....' This will mean lots of fun Science. We will also celebrate St Patrick's day so look out for information on the board.

MDO - By Maria Helms Thank you everyone for attending our Valentine and Going Away Party for Ms. Rachel last month. We all wish Ms. Rachel the best for the future. We went through big changes in our class and are working on to settle everyone and keep our schedule going.

Advisory Council

Dear families and staff,

Spring is in the air! We would like to announce that we have a new Director! Ms. Sabrina Freeman has officially started the beginning of March. We are excited to work with her as she has already come with numerous ideas to help promote CLA. If you have a minute please stop by and introduce yourselves. This month we will be returning to the great outdoors to get some fresh air now that our temperatures are creeping back up. Stuff is still a little muddy, so please be sure we have jackets and spare clothing in case of messes outside! March is looking to be not so hectic in all of our classes, so enjoy the calm before the crazy storm April is shaping up to be. In April we have spring break, return registration, summer camp registration, and progress reports! Lots of fun things, and we’ll be sure to get out exact dates and details of everything as the time grows closer. The board has three open positions that we would like to fill (2nd Vice President, Treasurer, and Volunteer Coordinator). Please see one of us for more information or email us at [email protected] I hope you all have had a most fantastic February, and I look forward to another fun and exciting month here at CLA. Your Advisory Council Board Sue Elkins, President Desiree Rosch, 1st Vice President Eryn Eline, Secretary
