It's about more than just showing up!

When you attend a membership luncheon or other chamber function, do you have an agenda?

Here is an example of mine:

• There are always a few members who I want to talk with regarding cross marketing opportunities. The chamber sends out a list of attendees for the luncheon to make this easier.

• There may be a member who I want to talk with about a service I need. I recently talked to a member insurance agent about changing my business insurance. I will talk to him at the meeting, because he asked me for the opportunity to bid on it.

• I always try to seek out the new members to meet, welcome them and find out what they do and of course, to ask them to do business with me. I give a haircut ticket or tickets to them to help make it easy.

• And it's always nice to catch up with old friends.

What does your agenda look like? Are you getting the most business from these meetings?

Bring your 8 ½” X 11”marketing flyer to the chamber office on the Monday before the membership meeting and it will be collated for distribution at the membership luncheon. It is advisable to call ahead and find out how many pieces to bring to the office.

PROGRAM For each member you refer, we will give you either $25 off your membership or a free luncheon. (The option of $25 off the membership dues is capped to the amount of the referrer’s membership dues.) This program helps both the member making the referral and the chamber. The person making the referral doesn’t need to bring in a membership application – just the name of a person that might benefit from a chamber membership. We will take care of explaining the benefits of being a member and signing them up.

Booth guidelines: Set up begins at 6:30 a.m. and must be completed by 8:30 a.m. The basic exhibitor has a skirted table and two chairs. One vendor per booth. Booths requiring electric will be placed accordingly. All display materials must be removed following the expo. Please do not plan to break down your display until the end of the event.
