One of my highlights is being able to ask the kids, “What’s new with you this week?”. We all have a desire to feel valued, important, and to realize we have a purpose. Building Lives , Growing Relationship s, Imparting Hope

Youth Connection, offered on Tuesdays each week during the school year, is one of many programs offered by Clear Waters Life Center (CWLC) to support families. Youth Connection (YC) has been serving the community for 10 years. As with all programs, it has seen some changes. One thing has remained absolutely the same, however, the desire to “Build Lives, Grow Relationships, and Impart Hope”, the very vision statement of CWLC.

I have the honor each week or working with a great group of volunteers whose goal is forming meaningful and predictable relationships with the kids whom we serve. I have been involved with YC for three “seasons” and have been able to see many of these kids transi-tion from middle school to high school. I am very impressed with how they have matured - being able to support, encour-age, and respect each other.

We have been blessed this year to have Mindy Broden join us and share her skills as a counselor. Each week she shares a topic and challenges the kids to better understand themselves as well as how to relate to others. Our teens face many challenges, and they need the skills to be “prepared for the road ahead”. The kids really enjoy Mindy’s style of

presentation and eagerly engage in active conversations during discussion time.

One of the other weekly highlights is the opportunity to release some energy playing organized games in the gym. The students love dodgeball, basketball, soccer, or simply throwing a football around. They also get a monthly opportunity to test their climbing skills with the challenging rock wall which is supervised by skilled, certified instructors. A lot of life skills can be modeled and tested through physical sports. I am so thankful for our volunteers who can keep up with them!! We also offer art opportunities for creative expression and to allow for different interests and talents .

Lastly, we provide a meal when the kids get off the bus which gives them an opportunity to refocus, re-energize, and catch up with each other. One of my highlights is being able to ask the kids, “What’s new with you this week?”. We all have a desire to feel valued, important, and to realize we have a purpose. It happens when we actively invest ourselves in others’ lives and seek to know who they truly are.

Growing up in a small town can sometimes be a struggle as you’re limited in doing different things and going places, and honestly, limited activities that would keep you out of trouble. I was and still am thankful for the Clear Waters Life Center. I got along with everyone, and everybody knew each other. I was active in sports throughout the school year, but on the days that I didn't have practice, the “Life Center” was a go-to place for me because there were fun games, like pool, Foosball, and BASKETBALL; if you were a more artsy person, there were arts and crafts. I would be done with school and hungry; the Center offered snacks, pizza, and soda for cheap. Pizza was always offered for free after Friday night home football games; it was announced at the game that you could head over to the ”Life Center” if you were hungry for free pizza and games. I was super blessed by this offer because growing up in Clearbrook a lot of people wanted to party on Friday night after the game and having the “Life Center” allowed me a safe, positive choice. The right decision surrounded me with good people with good vibes instead of running the risk of getting myself hurt or into trouble.

I am so thankful for the Clear Waters Life Center. Growing up there changed my life and encouraged my friends and me. The people who volunteered there were so helpful and filled with the love of Jesus and that love definitely carried on to who I am today.

Once again, Clear Waters Life Center has been blessed with the generosity of individuals and local organizations willing and able to give toward a much needed project. As you can see from the

picture, the CWLC•Gonvick gym has a new floor adding to the aesthetics of this space that is available for rent by area residents whom we serve. The project was completed by CWLC staff and Mustard Seed Homes residents.

It is ready for use - exercising, walking, playing ball - or renting for family and community gatherings. Come, visit, and enjoy the new space!

THANK YOU to all our very generous supporters for

making this happen!

New gym floor

We are excited about the amazing space our new kitchen offers area residents and the business opportunities that it represents. With a request for proposal, we are looking for individuals & ideas to use the space. It could be once a month, once a week, or once a day to make breads, pies, cakes, or specialty meals to cater out or serve on site. These are

just a few possibilities. Dare to dream with us and see what comes together?

Request for Proposal

Community commercial kitchens available for rent to members of the public are a relatively new phenomenon. These kitchens are often used as incubation facilities for beginning food entrepreneurs like caterers, product manufacturers, or food truck operators. It may also be a means for local farmers to add value to raw product in order to expand marketing potential.

When planning your proposal keep in mind we have dining space available to accommodate various sized groups: Little Italy (#20-24), Coffee Coop (#30-36), Tuscany (#50), and the gym (#150-200). Note: We are a family friendly, alcohol free environment. In order to formulate a workable plan, proposals are requested by April 1, 2016 to be in the initial scheduling round. After April 1 we will contact those who have submitted proposals and gather with the other potential partners to see how we can make everything work together. Depending on open time slots, we will accept additional proposals after this initial meeting. Thanks for considering and being adventuresome….we look forward to seeing what will emerge! Call with any questions or to request a proposal form:
